    Nice almost-year necro.

    Cestus

http://www.frontiermodels.co.uk/images/cache/154bb751bd87c221862381819142fb67.jpg I don't recall seeing many different cestus without a blade of some kind fashioned in there.

    Grappling with a Spiked Chain

RAW: No. Fun: Yeah, sure. Makes the Spiked Chain even better (which isn't necessary at all), but if the rest of the group is fine with it, that sounds like a lot of fun. He's right, if it can trip a person by wrapping around their legs, it can grapple them by wrapping around their torso.

Can you help me to determine what alignment is this?

Vegepygmy I think his definition of Lawful is about as correct as you can get for the very far right. Of course, there are varying degrees of lawfulness, which is why the majority of people in the thread said Lawful anyway. Look at the most Lawful plane in the D&D Cosmology, the Clockwork...

Can you help me to determine what alignment is this?

Celebrim In my experience, most players are Chaotic Good in practice (even if their sheet says Chaotic Neutral), and Chaotic Neutral comes second. /nothingelsetosay

Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

Greenfield The Rope Trick spell equates dimensions to planes, and further states that it is extradimensional to the multiverse of planes.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Classes with mounts

Other than that 3.0 PrC that lets you ride anything (from trees to ants to titans), I don't think any class grants any decent mounted abilities that you can't acquire through feats.

Can you help me to determine what alignment is this?

Lawful Evil. Might is Right. Control everything so that everything works the way it should. Obviously, my organisation is the only organisation that can accomplish these goals.

    The most epicest artifact?

Dozen Well, he's a greater deity now. I was being informative not argumentative. Should be noted that none of of the deities, demigods, or unique devils/demons are the strongest things in existence, the Devastation Scorpion or Devastation Beetle can kill most of them without any real...

    The most epicest artifact?

    How big is my katana?

Dordledum Anthropology tends to disagree with your assessment. Examining knightly armor of the period will clearly show that the majority of suits were built for persons between 5'10" and 6'2", most laying in the upper end of that spectrum. Assuming the suits were made for people to wear at...

Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

Jimlock The terms "affixed" and "present" would agree that the extradimensional space is anchored to a location on the Material plane. At the very least, I am in an extradimensional space, in North America, in the USA, Virginia, Dahlgren, NSWC, Housing, My House.

    Glamered armour question

Lost Soul Glamered adds 2,700GP to the cost of the armor, no matter what bonus it may or may not have prior to adding it. The word for "semantics/sentence structure" is "syntax". The Glamered property is an illusion based on the spell Disguise Self. True Seeing or similar magic reveals the true...

Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

My issue with that is that I'm in an anchored extradimensional space. I'm in my room, up the rope, in the extradimensional space. The fact that I'm tethered to a physical location means that I'm just across a bridge/through a door, and Discern Location should able to identify that.

    How big is my katana?

The average height of a traditional samurai is about 5'3", according to available sources. The average English knight was about 6'1". To put it into perspective, the katana is more or less equivalent in proportion to the English long sword when compared to their wielder's height.

Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

Greenfield If someone were to Discern Location me, right now for example, I'd be in the USA, King George county, Dahlgren, VA, Naval Surface Warfare Center, my house, computer room, chair. If I were to Rope Trick from this exact location, I would be in an extradimensional space. If Discern...

    Magic shape changing armor

Cloak of the Manta Ray is a great starting point. It grants a single form for polymorph, plus retains the use of arms. You want a single form for polymorph, plus a small swim speed bonus when not polymorphed. I'd set it right about the same price, or about 7500gp. This is one of those items...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

kingius My argument is that any stability granted by putting a bone spike in a soft surface can be matched or exceeded by bracing that same spike firmly against a boot; not that resistance isn't a factor in maximum pull strength. The universal joint was invented specifically for ballistae to...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

kingius Ballistae could aim up, down, left, and right; hence they are not fixed. Later age ballista engineers invented the universal joint for just this reason; they realized that a stationary weapon is fine, but a fixed one is not. Unless you can somehow put a universal joint (or some such...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

kingius A strong stance is much more resilient than ice or soil, especially a protruding overhang made of either. Physically speaking, the spikes would be absolutely useless in a real-world scenario. Rooting one end of the bow will not help you pull the string, but it will affect the angles...
