Does equipment and spell effects stack if simmilar?

I think it uses the same rule as other enhancements. They don't stack, use the best bonus for a given situation.

    Neanderthals

GameDaddy Intelligence is defined as the ability to accrue knowledge and skills, and the collection of information. The Neanderthal were, to put it bluntly, stupid. While they may have had wisdom, their ability to reason, apply new ideas to old thought, and adapt to new scenarios was very...

Strange thoughts for a new skill effect

Omegaxicor Consider that it might have been an officer's weapon, which enhanced his ability to deal with his soldiers and deal with the opposing force nonviolently when possible. Speaking of, a hat that can turn into Mage's Magnificent Mansion 1/day (CL 13) once the wearer visits five different...

    Tripping a much larger opponent?

Well, the Jotunbrud feat (Races of Faerun) allows Humans to snag Powerful Build. I think the only way to get Trip attempts against larger individuals is to actively gain in size, other than by use of Powerful Build/Jotunbrud.

Strange thoughts for a new skill effect

Spell Turning :: d20srd.org Magic Rings :: d20srd.org Spell Turning is in the Player's Handbook. Elementite Swarms are in Planar Handbook, IIRC. Diplomacy bonus makes sense; making peace is almost always an act of diplomacy.

    Tripping a much larger opponent?

I believe Powerful Build grants you the benefits of an improved size category for Trip attempts.

Strange thoughts for a new skill effect

To clarify: Regarding Elementals: there are Quasi, Para, Grues, Wierds, and Elementite Swarms in the various sourcebooks. Everything from Ash to Vacuum elementals exist, and could be considered when adding effects to the weapon. Elementite Swarms act like vermin/insect Swarms, but are comprised...

Strange thoughts for a new skill effect

So, you really mean "enchantment" rather than "skill". If you're looking for strictly video game advice, look no further! Weapon +2, +5 and Bane vs. the first enemy type per day that you kill! (IE: if your first kill is a Giant or Dragon, the weapon becomes Giant Bane or Dragon Bane) Weapon +3...

    Balancing out a campaign

VariSami Throwing in additional costs to selling goods, beginning a business, or upkeeping a business isn't a problem until it becomes impossible to make any money off of it whatsoever. If the total cost is 99% of your total net gain, it is still worthwhile for the player to start that business...

In 2007, how did you see hits and hit points?

Man in the Funny Hat, I'd always seen fighters as I see the big MMA/Boxing/KungFu fighters. They're definitely getting beaten to hell, but the majority of hits that land don't have much of an effect at all. Those smaller blows are representative of low damage hits, slowly chipping away at that...

In 2007, how did you see hits and hit points?

I wonder, exactly how can you be "hit" without being hit? #2 doesn't make any sort of logical sense whatsoever.

    Balancing out a campaign

Whats this? No hero can succeed while using the Elite Array? I'll have you know that it is very easy to get by with those scores in 3.5. Hell, you're only two +1's off a standard roll, anyway. It only really hurts MAD classes. Just don't play a Paladin or a Monk and you'll be a-okay. You...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Dozen I have already presented the definitions of "mislead" and "misdirection", and both Greenfield and I have gone through the major syntax of both skills (Bluff and Sense Motive). Again, without a Bluff, Sense Motive is a minute action. You couldn't perform it after every sentence said...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Greenfield Bartender is not trying to give a false impression of the Assassin's whereabouts. Bartender is not trying to convince Paladin that he doesn't know where Assassin is. Under your assumption of Sense Motive, it detects everything but the whole, unabashed, unrestricted truth. For...

Warlocks are too anime and overpowered

Dandu is enjoying a laugh, probably based on what he's heard other people say. The difference being that they were serious, and he is laughing.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Greenfield You're correct, I had meant to write "What are you talking about?" instead of "I have no idea what you're talking about." Misdrection: Incorrect directions or instructions, inaccurate aim, management that is careless or inefficient, drawing attention away from. Mislead: to cause...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Again, Greenfield, I'm very aware that Sense Motive is not a lie detector. You, however, have failed to recognize the syntax of the skill in question. Only when used to react to a Bluff check is the skill not a minute action. Reading the Bluff skill is also important in determining when...

    D&D 3.x D&D 3.5E - Time Stop - Casting Spells on Allies?

radja I'd definitely allow that to work. Per Time Stop's fluff, you aren't actually stopping time, you're just moving really fast. If another person in the area became as fast as you, you would be acting normally in regards to each other and imperceptibly to everyone else. Although, you...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Yes, but that particular usage requires a minute long sense motive check. If you are not opposing a Bluff check, your Sense Motive is a minute long action. If you ask one question, to which a Bluff check is not required, you will get no Sense Motive data. If you do not have one minute or more...
