    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Greenfield There is no inherent falsehood to "I haven't seen him today". He is being completely honest with you, it isn't deception in the slightest. No Bluff check, a Sense Motive check under 100 will not reveal anything. Lets assume that Bartender knows exactly where Blacksmith is, and...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Greenfield, Dozen: I think Dozen has it more or less right. The first non-answer isn't a bluff attempt at all, whereas the second "out-of-your-ass" answer is. Conversation is full of implication and non-answers, and sense motive at it's best only lets you know that something is off. It doesn't...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

I'm not sure your example is correct, and it definitely isn't a part of the standard Sense Motive usages (hunch, sense enchantment, and discern secret message). There is nothing untrustworthy of "haven't seen him today", there is nothing hidden and there are no lies. A Bluff check isn't even...

Help me list spells that make skills irrelevant.

It was an ironic way of saying "sometimes, people can't make it to the game". The guy who usually plays Bards/charismatic individuals in my group has two ex-wives and a kid with the first. My Rogueish guy is a cop. Life is often the opposite of what people want to play in D&D.

    Are demons/devils living creatures?

I seem to recall the Deities and Demigods book giving all deities immunity to disintegrate/disintegration effects.

    Are demons/devils living creatures?

Brilliant. jvdburgt Yes, they're alive. No, Censure doesn't work like that. Dozen laid it out perfectly well. Regarding copyright law, sharing among friends for a not-for-profit purpose, while crediting the works and not using it in it's majority or entirety is quite legally alright.

Help me list spells that make skills irrelevant.

Li Shenron I agree to a point. Most of my casters stay away from such spells (hey, the skill monkey can do that stuff without using valuable resources to do it, I'm not going to prepare resources for that reason) unless the skill monkey/fighter/etc is away for a session. They're great when your...

Help me list spells that make skills irrelevant.

Jimlock The purpose of the thread wasn't to memorize the spells necessary to replace skill monkies, it was to find spells that performed the same function as skills. Regarding specifics you've pointed out: One of the facets of Spellcraft is to Identify items. Identify covers that particular...

    Uh... what?

It is well known that Adventure Time is an homage to, and greatly inspired by D&D. The executive producer was even quoted in saying it.

    Disintegrate does not affect trees

I disagree with your premise. One of the oldest, and most commonly cited in literature, definitions of the word "creature" is: "Anything living or existing." In more archaic definitions, the term "or" often signifies "and". A tree fits both classifications, and is therefor a creature.

Angels with protective auras can't use SLAs?

Globes are immobile. Anytime the Angel wants to cast a lower level spell, it can leave the Globe, cast the spell, and then reenter it. Or leave the Globe, cast the spell, and refresh his Globe. Related to the topic, Golems can ignore their Immunity to Magic when casting spells on themselves ...

    Cone damage and large+ targets?

Well, considering a target is a target, an enemy is an enemy, and an object is an object, I'd say you only get to hit it once regardless of it's size. I'm sure that I've seen RAW to support this, but I can't remember where.
