    Tumble in a Straight Line?

I like that it mentions different kinds of tumbling, like cartwheels and flips and such. I also like that it breaks it down into five foot squares. That is explicitly states each 5' square can be traversed as if it were 10' implies you can break it up however you like. 5' tumble, '10 walking...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 low magic campaign tips

Dordledum http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/206323-e6-game-inside-d-d.html E6 - the Epic 6. Basically, your characters gain levels normally up to level 6 and then stop gaining levels at all. You can buy feats for 5,000exp after level 6. This'll let your heroes be less...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 low magic campaign tips

Your early game isn't the issue, here. Casters grow exponentially as they level up, whereas non-casters grow in a more static fashion. You could refuse access to Tier 1 and 2 classes, which would still allow every type of caster to exist (through Beguilers, Dread Necros, Warmages, etc) without...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 low magic campaign tips

Using a low-magic campaign setting with unhindered access to casting classes isn't a scenario I've encountered before. You're effectively widening the gap between casters and noncasters, potentially making the latter feel even more reduced in scope. One of the most effective ways I've seen of...

Modifying the "X charges per day" items from the MIC

Isn't there a super cheap weapon property that returns the weapon to your hand for multiple throws per round? I know Returning is terrible, but i could have sworn I saw a better version of it somewhere.

Modifying the "X charges per day" items from the MIC

Oh, that is a fun item. Using the same mechanic (5 charges, 1 charge charge for +5, 3 for +5/seeking, 5 for +5/seeking/bane), we know at least two things. For pricing purposes, you've bought at least a +3 dagger. That's 18,000 off the bat, and the Magic Item Creation Guidelines don't have...

Ancient Question: How to handle surrendering monsters....

Dozen /quote "in my games, alignment is never absolute" (can't be bothered to quote properly). Just informing you, in case you were unaware, that RAW does not agree. Play how you like, though. 's all good.

Ancient Question: How to handle surrendering monsters....

Dozen Here in the real world, good and evil are described and defined by human beings with very little relation to each other and no desire to be a cohesive unit, which means regional differences don't just exist, but are encouraged. In the D&D universe, good and evil are defined by the...

Ancient Question: How to handle surrendering monsters....

kstout Alignment in D&D is absolute, black and white. In life, it is mostly varying shades of grey. What is evil in D&D is always evil, no matter what. As an example, torturing an enemy to get information that could save millions of lives is evil. In life, that same scenario is a grey area...

Ancient Question: How to handle surrendering monsters....

The Good thing to do would be to let the surrendering enemy go. The Evil thing to do would be to kill him in order to ensure he can't return to ambush you at a later time. The Lawful thing to do would be to take him back to be sentenced by the people he has wronged. The Chaotic thing to do...

Vorpal and Sharpness and Fumble rules...

I do use fumble rules, but I try to make them non-lethal. You can't help rolling a 1 sometimes! It usually results in broken bow strings, thrown weapons, slipping and falling, or other such detrimental (but not lethal) repercussions.

Figuring out BAB for classed monsters

You'd have to be 7th level Cleric to get a 3rd attack as a Frost Giant.. Which stat block says otherwise?

Oh no, not again! Casters vs. Non-casters...

Minutes/spell level sounds good. If it's 10/level, low level casters will be more effective than they currently are, and higher level casters won't be affected too much by the change.

Oh no, not again! Casters vs. Non-casters...

This supposed change will see a dramatic shift at low and middle levels, I think, that would make casters much less useful than they already aren't. At higher levels, you still have access to wands, scrolls, and the various other methods of acquiring a vast (nigh unlimited) number of 1st-4th...

    Leadership

I had a player decide to use his followers as an army against an invading wizard. One meteor swarm later and he had no more followers, either from being plunged to zero Leadership, or due to the 160' diameter crater where his followers used to be.

    Core+CW+CAdv Archer, no?

Archers don't gain flanking, iirc. If you can't have a race with flying, you'll have to pick up a Carpet of Flying as soon as possible.

    Core+CW+CAdv Archer, no?

No core races, but Avarial and Raptoran are clear picks.

D&D 3.x List of standard DCs by level for 3.5e?

16 + ECL is hard. 14 + ECL is above average. 12 + ECL is average. 10 + ECL is below average. 8 + ECL is easy. These only work for skill check averages. Spell DCs target saves, of course, which means different characters will blow through different target points easier than others.
