    D&D 5E (2024) D&D species article

So I can understand that but I guess I just don't see why saying that your have the racial bonuses of an elf but are a half breed isn't enough. In a perfect world they would have set the races up so that you could easily mix and match abilities but we should have known that they would never...

    D&D 5E (2024) The 10 Species in "Your Ideal 2024 PHB"

This is why you have all of the animal themes in a separate book, as you said you can easily come up with 10 ( I might have added Shifter to the list since humans would have been in a separate book). Also I would drop tabaxi or leonine (you only need one) for Grung.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D species article

So being compleatly honest I have to ask, why do people miss or want the half orc and half elf? The only reason I ever played a half elf is because it was mechanically advantageous but never really mattered for rp reasons. The bonus to charisma with the skills was great for some builds but to be...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D species article

Yeah Micah, the heritage and culture is my favorite part about A5E, that and how Artificers work.

Yes they did but from what we have seen they also removed the language so you only get 1 tool proficiency and no language.

That was not a problem. What they needed to do was to follow suit with A5E and added in the society where you were raised. If they would have just bumped the power level of the backgrounds a bit more to include let's say 3 tool, weapon, or armor proficiencies or hell, just give all players 2 of...

    D&D 5E (2024) The 10 Species in "Your Ideal 2024 PHB"

If they would have just done a plane Touched race with options for shadow, fey, elements super and lower I think that it would have been fine. While I like the alternate Tiefling options to me a plane Touched would have been a better use of space.

    D&D 5E (2024) Regarding the new PHB!

Treentmonk and Nerd Anacry both have the early access and both have stated that they have already made videos. I believe that I heard 9am est is when the NDA is lifted and they had stated that they already have videos ready to go at that time.

D&D 5E (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

The five attacks at lvl 11 is huge since you are adding your dex to each attack as well as anything you might get from your magical item which they said there will be several unarmed magical items. While the barbarian and the rogue can hit harder in one stroke the monks flurry is just so...

D&D 5E (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

I would say that monks are now better than rogues and barbarians as well as rangers as far as damage output is concerned. The rogue has more skills, but is defensively is worse due to a lack of damage mitigation. The barbarian has better damage mitigation at early levels but the monk is better...

D&D 5E (2024) What is the 2024 Bard Power Source?

Since 3rd ed Charisma has been a measure of your force of personality. Sorcerers do not learn magic they were born with it so Intelligence does not make sense. Wisdom is about being in tune with your surroundings, that level of begin in tune is why clerics, druids and monks work. D&D does not...

D&D 5E (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

So a bard can negate damage as a reaction on every round and possibly return the attack? A bard can doge and disengage as a bonus action or disengage and dash as a bonus action? make up to 5 attacks per round? The only thing the dance bard can do is unarmed ac which they could have just cast...

D&D 5E (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

No offense but if you are thinking like that then you might as well say that all spell casters can overshadow the monk. The monk gets 5 attacks per round where the bard, if they use concentration on haste can still only get a max of 3. The monks movement is better than a barda even with spells...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

That one actually didn't make the cut. Crawford said to be careful that the optional class rules in Tasha's were made for the 2014 and that giving them to a 2024 might have balance issues.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

First 50 gold per level is a trivial amount. Scrolls at least lower level ones will now be available to buy in the PHB along with some potions this is due to ability for someone with scribe tools to create spell scrolls. By the time a martial has bought plate you should have about 5-10 extra...

D&D 5E (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

Or you go the even easier rout of "This game world don't have psionics so those archetypes are reflavored as just magic."

D&D 5E (2024) To Revise or not to Revise: What to do about the other Subclasses?

So from what I can tell everything from Tasha's, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, Dragons and Giants should be fine to just plug and play with a few exceptions. What stands out to me is the Beast Barbarian; with the inclusion of weapon mastery the beasts Natural attacks need to be beefed up to...
