Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

So I personally love the complexity of 4e but I enjoy crunchy games, for most of my friends it is a bit to much. I will agree that I hate how you need the magic book and combat book just due to fixes they introduce. BTW what rules are hidden in some of the adventures? I have seen a lot of extras...

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

Yeah that was weird to read, I am so used to the glory of Sigmar and how most of the other gods have been down played in WFRP

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

Careers in TOW honestly don't matter, they give you a unique talent that you can't usually get any other way but every skill and every other talent is learnable by every character as long as you meet the pre request. Now you keep the unique talent that each career gets if you move to a different...

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

Yes in 4e you only have to leave a career if you want to be able to do something drastically different. It is also easier or less XP to move from a similar careers like starting off as an apothecary and becoming a physician as opposed to starting off as a soldier and becoming a mage.

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

Yes yes, man thing believes that we are rumors. Don't hear the cry cries from the catchers.

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

My favorite has been 2nd ed although I do like most of 4e it can just get bogged down at times. OW rules look interesting even if they are simplified for my taste but I just want more and better choices for my PCs.

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

The idea is to start off as a literal nobody and slowly work you way up to become a minor player but even at high levels you aren't all that powerful. Now Soulbound you start off as a hero and can grow to become practically super human wadeing through legions of enemies.

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

The fact that the skaven are in hiding right now killed it for me so I understand that. If you haven't played Chaos Bane it is a Diablo clone and quite fun. D Slayer, WE Scout, HE Mage, H Soldier then expansions with a D engineer and a H Witch Hunter. Also AoR still has a private server and...

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

But in 2nd we you moved from career to career. My favorite I started off as a tomb robber who became a priest of the goddess of knowledge then moved into a witch hunter. It was a great character arch, My other started off as a pit fighter then moved into an assassin.

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

Soulbound has very thematic units where what we see in old word are mainly basic warriors or knights. In the RPG your careers have things like that catcher, scout, etc.We don't have rules for war dancers or trolls slayers and since the magic colleges haven't been formed your spell casters are...

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

While I like Soulbound you are practically playing a super hero and vastly different power level than old world

Warhammer: The Old World RPG Offers A New Take On The Empire

For me it is not as dynamic as Soulbound with a little more rules but not much. Unfortunately while it has lite rules compared to wfrp the flavor is duller and dimmed I believe due to the time period. Over all I will stick with WFRP it just feels juicer, yes the rules are a bit more complex but...

New D&D Unearthed Arcana Reveals Two New Subclasses for Monk and Sorcerer, Plus Revamps For Seven More

I like the idea of a tattoo Monk and I think the level 3 choices are nice but we need more of them, the level 6 are not worth bothering along with the lvl 17 ones. That leaves the resistances which are nice but costly. Nothing really synergies well with the core class and it moves back to making...

New D&D Unearthed Arcana Reveals Two New Subclasses for Monk and Sorcerer, Plus Revamps For Seven More

I am a little upset that we didn't get the earlier play test of the Necromancer, the one that was nearly in the phb, the one Chris said you could have a minion from level 3 on.

    D&D 5E (2024) Armor as THP?

In Faresight, a 5e inspired space RPG, your armor is DR. You still roll to hit but that is what shields and dexterity improve while armor just makes you able to take a hit. They do use a low HP base like 10 + con then +1 per level

D&D 5E (2024) YART: Adding Ranger Spell Options to Class Features.

D&D 5E (2024) Gunslinger Class (from Valda's Spire of Secrets) on DnD Beyond!

In the updated artificer posted in the Eberron update they changed it so that weapons created by your replicate magic item can be used as an arcane focus. (I thought it was specific to artillerist but ai was wrong)

D&D 5E (2024) Power sources to disambiguate the 5e spellcaster classes

We don't need separate spices of magic we need vastly different sell list and unique mechanics.
