I've got enough 3.5 material to last me until the 4e books drop to £15. Might buy the PHB as soon as it is released though, and subscribe to D&D Insider (I hope its the same price as it is in the US ($10), and they don't up it to £10 a month. That would suck.)

Maybe the third setting will be Planescape, and will feature sourcebooks for Greyhawk, Dark Sun, Ravenloft, etc. They could bring out one hardcover with limited information about each setting, then expand upon each one with smaller books similar to the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer.

They wouldn't need to "undo" things, just look at them a different way. It's been suggested that all worlds are linked by the plane of shadows/plane of mirrors - maybe they'll do something with that? One thing that makes me hopeful about a 4e Planescape is the ending to Expedition to the Ruins...

I've played in many games without a cleric, and we've done alright! Dungeonscape featured a very handy cleric-in-a-box kit we made heavy use of, and we made use of NPC healing when appropriate. It was never a major problem. ... Although, thinking back, we've had a good few character deaths...

I'm starting Shackled City next week, gonna try to get through it as fast as possible. After that, I want to run Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk, and link the end of that module to the changes that happen in 4e. If possible, I might run a couple of one shots when the 4e PHB comes out.

Ugh, I hope they don't call the new leader class "Warlord". Marshal might be more appropriate? I love this phrase.

I absolutely HATE random rolling of attributes. I always find it interesting how often people roll 18s under this system.

They could potentially merge Ranger and Paladin, into a "Champion of [blank]" sort of class.

There already is a mechanism for players getting started quickly - remember the starting kits in the PHB and the new ones they added in PHBII? Thats what they are for. You can roll up some abilities, pick the feats, skills, and equipment it advises, and play.
