you can indeed, check under spell preperation in the phb, I would advise investing in metamagic feats if you intend to do this regularly, to fully make take advantage of this use of higher slots.

isn't the hellian, in r & r 2, a sorcerer based prc? seeing as wizards are never inducted into the group. it also gets some pretty cool abilities. not that its a summoner, but it is sorcerer based.

bah, found the answer, light weapons can still power attack, they just don't add damage, so they don't have any lame effect on cleave.
