When did WotC D&D "Jump the Shark"?

Right, and when we see anything for Runepriest, Seeker, Artificer, or even new builds that aren't "subclasses", then I'll agree with you. Why not try to contribute something in the meantime?

When did WotC D&D "Jump the Shark"?

I don't think 4E has jumped the shark just yet. I do, however, think that if in a year we look back and haven't seen any support for classes that aren't "Essentials", then the release of Essentials will very likely be seen as the moment. The thing to keep in mind with Happy Days is that it...

WotC_Trevor is looking for questions for Rule of Three

Any plans to support the gnoll or bladeling, which got full writeups but haven't seen anything since?

    Themes... what are they?

Quite right. My biggest disappointment by far with Heroes of Shadow is the absence of new themes. Vampire itself seems like an excellent theme rather than class, for that matter.

    Themes... what are they?

They're really pretty fantastic. One of the WoTC employees (think it was Trevor) confirmed that there are themes in the Neverwinter Campaign Setting due out later this year, and apparently there are going to be some introduced through Dungeon/Dragon. Right now they're pretty specific to Dark...

    Splitting the party in combat

I did this with a sandtrap in my Dark Sun campaign - the group was fighting some wraiths (MV, not the boring old ones) who hovered and so weren't affected. Kept things very interesting. One of the things I've tried recently that I think went over pretty well was a pillared hall - I had pillars...

    D&D 4E 4Ed Feat clarification

The feat would need to be completely re-written for psionic characters, since they don't lose the use of their augmentable at-wills. That's the fun thing about psionic characters - you can use the same power several times and augment it each time, so long as you have the power points to do so.

    I have Heroes of Shadows

I do wonder if "Essentials" isn't just an acquiescence to the fact that they couldn't provide support for the other classes precisely because of the options. I mean, a new essentials build is a few powers and a couple of feats. The old classes demanded much more attention, because there were so...

    The CB is still crappy

So perhaps use the front door instead of screaming about how crappy the house is?

Amazon listing for the Book of Vile Darkness

Some part of me is hoping this book provides support for "evil" playable races - things like orcs, gnolls, kobolds, and goblins. The ones already in the builder, rather than adding new stuff. Hopefully they qualify as "evil" enough.

    The CB is still crappy

You can export from the new builder, then open the exported file in the old CB and use the viewer from there. Unfortunately not everything displays properly, since theme powers for example aren't present in the old CB.

    I have Heroes of Shadows

Any new boons or interesting magic items?

April Dungeon and Dragon (at last) ToC is up

I sincerely hope the Eye on Dark Sun isn't the last article posted again.

Amazon listing for the Book of Vile Darkness

I think the quality and content of Heroes of Shadow will be a big deciding factor for me when it comes to the BoVD - same author, similar intent. We'll see what happens.

    Avoiding Tremorsense?

I could see an argument being made for a repeated, rhythmic pounding on the ground disrupting tremorsense (perhaps providing concealment or some such) within a certain radius, along the lines of the "thumpers" in Dune. Would presumably work better against non-sentient creatures than against...

    The CB is still crappy

In general the load times have improved significantly. Assigning ability points can still get tedious, but it's pretty quick now. It will never be as fast as an offline tool, because it has to connect to the server every time a change is made. Sometimes this will be almost instantaneous, others...

    The CB is still crappy

It'd be nice if warforged/shardmind components worked properly too. They didn't in the old one either, unfortunately.

    The CB is still crappy

It's a combination of browser settings and their security system. Silverlight doesn't use the same browser session as the website, but it does require you to be logged in through the website, so occasionally it will boot you if you've been using only the program for an extended period. As I...

    Super Sayian

I haven't seen anything 4E, but it's easy enough to apply such powers to NPC's and monsters. For PC's it's a bit more difficult, but certainly not impossible.

    The CB is still crappy

It happens if you spend too long on the same WoTC site at once, or if you close the window you used to launch the CB. It's your session on the WoTC site timing out, is all. It's a security feature designed to protect your account if you're accessing from say, a library computer - if you left it...
