    Corpsegrafter and UA Necromancer skeleton

In Unearthed Arcana they have some specialist wizard variants. For the Necromancer you have the Skeletal Minion option (pg 63). The description says So, my question is: Can the Corpsegrafter feat (from Libris Mortis pg. 25) apply to your skeletal minion? The feat says Emphasis mine...

    Granted Powers in non-deity places

Thank you irdeggman!! That is exactly what I was looking for! I would still get spells and domain granted powers, although I wouldn't "hear back" from my deity. Sorry to barge back in the conversation. This is a situation I can bring to my DM and see if he relents. My DM has a story/plot...

    Granted Powers in non-deity places

I like the idea of having spells memorized beforehand and casting them later in the deity-banned location. Might try that on the DM. Unfortunately, I can see my DM saying that the granted powers would "wink out" once I am out of my deities sphere of influence. Wow, good ol' 2nd edition with...

    Granted Powers in non-deity places

Okay, thanks Patryn. I was going to take a level of cleric (have none so far) but my DM just told me that might not be a good idea since we are soon going somewhere where deities powers are blocked. Slight meta-gaming, yes, but my DM was being nice and didn't want my new abilities to be...

    Granted Powers in non-deity places

For example you go to a new realm (or series of locales) like Ravenloft. Either somewhere where your gods don't exist, or a more powerful force blocks their influence. Does that help Patryn? Cheers

    Granted Powers in non-deity places

Okay, bit of a confusing title, but essentially my question is: If you go to a place/realm that blocks access to your deity, do you still gain the granted powers from your domains? I know that you would lose spell access and hence the bonus domain spell, but is your granted power from your...

    7th level decision

Our campaign is a low-magic and low wealth campaign. Clerics are around, but magic potions are not very common, and also very expensive. To be able to wound makes a big difference. Not sure if this is a common reading, or just a house rule, but we play that you can't use the Heal skill on...

    7th level decision

Magesmiley: I was looking at the divine feats, but since my Charisma is only 10, most are not ideal. Some are cool I admit, but since my focus won't be on cleric for the long run, I would rather put my feats elsewhere. My next feat choice is going to be Arterial Strike (Complete Warrior, pg...

    7th level decision

Ooh, hadn't thought of that! Now that is even more reason to get cleric. A swift action away from +2d6 sneak attack on the neighborhood ghoul. Undead crop up now and then, although there are rumours they are growing in numbers in the north. (Frankthe DM, I didn't take that as a hint to get...

How would you adjudicate rappelling down a string from a flying kite?

A silence spell would work for all the noise. Cast it on the kite. Then like Grogtar said, an Invisibility previously cast on the ninja, plus Feather Fall or Levitate on the ninja to land in the target zone, and he's there. Getting out is the trick.

    7th level decision

The campaign will go for at least another 6 levels. So, yeah, I have some leeway to go cleric for a bit and still pursue my PrC dream. I doubt the other clergy will go after me, it's only been pranks. Mind you, that could make a good plot hook for the DM. For the most part they have been pranks...

    7th level decision

I have a halfling rogue 4 / fighter 2. I am working towards Thief-Acrobat PrC. The way our campaign has been going, I am thinking about taking a level in cleric (of Dallah Thaun, from Races of the Wild, pg. 52) for role-playing purposes (and it could be cool). However, I am balancing that...

    Ideas for a different group!

How about the Invisible Man idea from the movie "Mystery Men". He's only invisible when no one is looking. Change it a little bit, though. If no one sees him initially he is invisible. After that he stays invisible until he somehow shows his presence i.e. coughing politely, speaking, poking...

    Item Familiar

I did write "...when the wizard gains a level and takes the Item Familiar feat..." but thank you for the rest :) You said the wizard will "spell slot" not "spell slots". Is that the bonus 1st level slot? or the 3rd level slot? Thanks for the help :D

    Item Familiar

Question on inheriting an item familiar (p.173 Unearthed Arcana). For example: A 5th level wizard PC picks up a ring that was the recently deceased 6th level evil cleric's item familiar. It is a ring of protection +2. Somehow he discovers its true nature and when the wizard gains a level he...

Run and RAW, not the feat

Thanks, just double checked the PHB and confirmed that about running. Which leads me to a new question, which is the flip-side of my first one. How can someone run away safely from attackers if a withdraw action isn't enough movement? I guess the simple answer is they can't, unless they have...

Run and RAW, not the feat

In the last session we had a small fit over how to successfully conclude a chase without ending in a Constitution roll fest to see who fatigues first. In our session our barbarian was chasing down an orc cleric. They were on a road so the orc could run straight for a long stretch. Obviously the...

    Character wealth

Bront, where did you get "the highest priced item is supposedly 50% of that, though it could be 40%" from? I don't recall reading that anywhere?

    Character wealth

Much obliged Shin. The first few levels in my campaign the characters had squat for equipment. Which is what I wanted. Now that their reputation has spread a little, some items are coming their way (for a favor or two). Just didn't want to go overboard.

    Character wealth

Simple wealth question that I need to have clarified. On the character wealth by level chart on page 135 of the DMG (3.5), that is the total amount of wealth a character should have? or that is the highest priced item they can have? For example: A 5th level character has a wealth limit of...
