JollyDoc's Shackled City: FINAL POST [Updated 11/2!!]

None of them, however, saw the yawning portal that suddenly appeared behind them. As it expanded, it engulfed them all in one fell swoop, and then vanished as quickly as it had come, taking the heroes with it… Yup...There was a side adventure that eventually led to the "Lord o' Iron Fortress."

JollyDoc's Shackled City: FINAL POST [Updated 11/2!!]

Great update.........................Hurry up and get to Ike. Seriously, I really like how you described the combat with the 'mob' and just how aggravating it was to player and character alike. The "Oh my god, they killed Dalthon" parley at the start. Shows how you can get used to anything...

    painting eyes - advice?

I use thinned paint in the eye socket-eyelid detail to do the white part. Let gravity pull the paint into the eyelid stamp. With white it sometime takes more than one coat. For the next coat (color) I use a testors 00 detail brush, in even thinner paint. Roll the tip to a very sharp point with...

    Just checking to see if the update feature still works. . . . . . . . It does, J.D. :D </sarcastic hints off>

    Best fight scene?

Make that two votes for 'They Live' Just about the time a standard hollywood fight scene would be over, Roddy Piper or David Keith would start up again. (I love the fight scenes when the 'hero' gets as good as he gives.) All over a pair of sunglasses.. Men in Black when Will Smith confronts...

Dungeons & Dragons - The Musical

The final episode of Futurama springs to mind for some odd reason.... (Robot Devil); " Your lyrics lack subtley. You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry."

    What's your screenname mean?

Roderick Hero or R-Hero to my close personal freinds. (Sounds like 'our hero' don't it.) I had used the name in 1st ed the first cavalier I wrote up. (I played him like a paladin with braggin' rights.) We had so much fun roleplaying between characters that he became one of my favorites. That...

JollyDoc's Shackled City: FINAL POST [Updated 11/2!!]

The real question is, Do the Bright Axes want to keep Cauldron after (spoiler deleted) happens? Also, JD missed the untimely loss of Sherman in this battle. I was running him at the time, Revivified Gunther and propmtly got axed into tinsel by the Dwarven Berzerkers.

    Cleaving after an AoO

8 years U.S. Army, but every where I went, I couldn't get away from either ex or active duty Marines. Each unit I was assigned to had at least 1 ex-Marine One of earliest training assignments was at Little Creek Naval Amphibious base in Virginia. (Salors, Soliders and Marines.) Several overseas...

    ?? on Warshaper Prestige Class

I recently updated my e-tools and I came across the Warshaper Prestige Class. I can't seem to find any printed material on the subject matter. Could someone tell me a little about it or at least point me toward the right book.? I added a couple of levels to a fighter I just leveled up and it...

    Cleaving after an AoO

If you are having fun, keep chasin' your tail devildog. ;) This circular logic will never die. There are good arguments on both sides. There is no right answer. (Untill Core Rulebook 1 version 4.0 comes out, anyway!) I can play it either way and not loose any sleep. (As long as the...

    Which ranged weapon(s) do(es) your D&D character(s) use?

For real distance, most of the games I play rely on spell casters. The current game I'm in, My fighter has a trident, (10 ft) and another Half Ogre character uses a spiked chain (10 for weapon and 10 for giant) with devistating results. Tanglefoot bags can be effective, (touch ac) at least at...

What is your most memorable role playing moment?

Thats a tall order 'cause there are so many. I've been playing since the early 80's. A cavalier and half elf magic user (1st ed) always trying to outdo the other. Charging onto battle and trying to slay more than the other. We had a goblin or orc (Sorry, memory fading, Gulf War syndrome) beat...

    Cleaving after an AoO

I still think that cleave in this instance falls under full attack action. The natural ebb and flow of combat. An A of O is a quick opening that falls anywhere within combat because of the opponents lack of defense or focus. Wizard Aay mucking around with a spell does not make Fighter Zee...

    Cleaving after an AoO

($0.02) I aggree with this interpritation of the rules. An A.O.O. is a quick reflex to an opening in your opponents defenses. (A boxer sneaking in a short jab to his opponents ribs, for example) Relying on Reflex (Dexterity) Cleave is a full blown attack that has so much force in it that...

JollyDoc's Shackled City: FINAL POST [Updated 11/2!!]

I believe this has been addressed before. The good doctor takes a certain liberty when writing the S.H. It takes away from the story re-writing every die roll. Better tactics helped out but for the most it is in the die rolls. J.D. recieves as good as he gives combat-wise. As far as power...

JollyDoc's Shackled City: FINAL POST [Updated 11/2!!]

AHEM!!! :] Let us not forget the adopted Daywalker that [Spoiler Deleted] at the very end. There has to be something written on the Lords of the Iron Fortress, even if its just a shorthand account.
