Paladin breaks word - appropriate atonement

What does he do when the evil and cruel people he infiltrates commits deeds like murders, enslavement, torture, sacrifices etc. in his presence. Take the path of the greater good or act immedietly to prevent the deed?

Paladin breaks word - appropriate atonement

Is this the Paladin code you are following? If so, the lack of returning a prisoner would be the least of your problems if I DM'ed the game. By that code the actual serious transgressions are IMO. 1. You shouldn't have allied or cut deals with an evil cult. 2. You shouldn't accept human...

    Mining with a Waraxe

Obviously. But I can live easier with that, than the fact than Power Attacking dwarves crumbling 100+ pounds of stone/metal every 6 seconds :)

    Mining with a Waraxe

Basically it is beginning to sound like you would like to let them do the tunneling. If for nothing else to reward creativity. In that case you don't need our interpretation of the rules. You need to focus on whether or not creatures on the other side of the tunneling will have a chance of...

    New Ruleset?

I'll pipe in again. Have you looked at True20? It sounds to me like a lot of the things you want is found in that rulesset, and for what isn't, True20 it is very easy to customise.

    Mining with a Waraxe

When Power Attacking you are making wild swings, sacrificing accuracy for power. I would rule that when attacking inanimate objects you are already whacking as hard as you can, since accuracy is of little interest. Thus hitting with all you have is already assumed and implemented into the...

    New Ruleset?

Nope. Just about all your listed goals are already solved for me by True20.

    Help build an Enchanter Specialist!

The four easy steps to make a great specialist enchanter. 1. Get your hands on PH2 2. Flip on to the Beguiler Class (page 6) and start reading (to page 8) 3. Roll (or Point Buy your stats), remember to put your best stats in Int and Cha 4. Pick the Spell Focus (Enchantment) and Greater Spell...

    Flaws would you...?

And in one fell swoop you just showed why the Flaw subsystem stinks. It will always be mined for Flaws that essentially doesn't hurt the character. So my answer would be NO WAY (and my advice not to use the Flaw system at all, instead just hand out more feats for everyone if you feel the need...

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Hmm. The Wall of Shame, with corpses hanging on it. Me thinks the Shining Father and his priests might not be as good as we are meant to believe ;) The same goes for Dagos, the Slaad summoning rather than a fiend, opposing Orcus. Doesn't really sound evil to me.

18 int, 6 wis, 6 chr Warforged. Roleplaying tips?

You should remember that low Charisma strictly speaking does not mean that others dont like him. But that he has little force of personality, is insecure, has trouble making his meaning clear, don't like social situations and so on. In addition low Wisdom means he has trouble understanding and...

    Help with evil cleric NPC

My first question would be: Do you want a tough fight with a crusader style generic cleric or an encounter with an npc that emphasises what Loki stands for? If it is the first I'm sure many of the suggestions already put forth will do. If you want the second a vanilla cleric isn’t the...

Combat Style + Rogue = Coolness?

And you should. IMO that class is way over the top and the worst transgressions are the draining shot and the dexterity bonus to damage. Anyway I dont see the need for a special class at all, you can accomplish you character with a combination of rogue and fighter levels. And that would be a...

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

The internet is always a tricky place for me to state my opinion in a clear way. So I'll try again. I am enjoying the story very much, just as I enjoyed the last stories by Lazybones who I consider a gifted writer of sword and sorcery tales :) But I would enjoy it even more if it either...

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

They did level. Lazybones advanced them in detail from 4 to 7 level. Even if they advanced a level more it would make little difference, they would have been slaughtered. And the combats more or less ARE a blow by blow account. The D&D structure is transparent right down to the structure of...

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Hmm. Can't help myself. The story is exiting and reads well enough, but the victories are becoming increasingly unlikely. Four 7th level characters against even 1 Vrock and with only 1 weapon that can actually hurt the damn thing. My money would be on the Vrock. Every single time. In fact my...

Combat Style + Rogue = Coolness?

Why would he even have sneak attack then, I would say that sneak attacking takes a lot of combat training. It sounds to me like one of the Rogue class options from Unearthed Arcana fits your build better. You give up sneak attack and get bonus feats as a fighter instead. That will leave you...

    Stat yourself... Off topic?? dunno.

This is turning into an interesting social study. Apperently it is more important to give the impression of being strong and tough than lithe, well-coordinated and agile. It also seems that it is important to have people believe that that you are intelligent, but less important to have...

    Build Me a Minotaur

Not so much inspiring as plain better. Those generic classes are for a game where all players use them, they aren't designed to be on par with core classes.

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Yeah well. The D&D style of Good only works in a protected environment. It breaks down quickly when confronted with realistic problems. Like for instance.... prisoners that you can't let go and don't have the means to imprison or bring to justice.
