The Myth of the Necessity of Magic Items

Wear it, fine. So what? Make them quest to learn the feat instead if it bothers you. That's half or less. Wolves and animals don't carry much cash. Again, why take it away from the PC's?

The Myth of the Necessity of Magic Items

Agreed. And my company at hand likes street legal and find it more enjoyable. Expected, yes. Required, no. So? You can make items in a low magic campaign, why take that away? Just have small towns. They are willing to buy it for X.

The Myth of the Necessity of Magic Items

It takes real skill to run it street legal and have fun. Sure it can be. No big cities to buy magic items, encountering monsters will the "half standard treasure" or less.

    Are monster types balanced?

Are monster types balanced? No. So what? It's up to the DM to balence them by giving or taking magic items or treasure from the creatures, adjust their tactics, hit points and the like. Or who cares, it will balence out in the long run or it won't. Have fun, don't worry about the details.

How to get rid of the adversarial tone in the game

Ask them what they don't like about your game, then fix it. My complaint is house rules. I don't like most of them.

Level .666 (the miliplane) The plane of spammers, telemarketers, and pop up ad programmers. They are all commoners, and they just scream and run away. They have paper and some weird looking worthless wood (plastic, worthless, since they crumble in a magical universe, but barely burnable) for...

    The Player Puzzler's Guild

Sigh. Okay. I won't snark. It's a collapsing mine. It's post holocaust. There is really good stuff down there. The solar panels on the roof kind of works but is epoxyed to the sagging roof. There are hazards in the mine. Methane pockets, sagging supports, and rock falls. Possible...

    Military tactics vs. high-level spellcasters

Yup. They are leveling up by doing hit and run raids on a 10,000 strong army. Might as well level up as well. But, they get more swag. *Snif* (I guess you could sell hides and meat, but...) But added to the whatever's left of the 10,000 strong army at the last minute may make a...

As long as you can afford it and find it for sale, sure. Expensive though. Bag of tricks is cheap. Though wizard buffs are nice. Heal and cure disease in nice though. And the buffs are really nice. You got to use the cleric to it's full efficiency. Not in my experience. Yours? Oh and...
