    D&D gaming style preference changes

My style has changed mainly due to real life. I DM most of the time and back in high school I would spent hours (including time I should've been doing homework) creating dungeons and settings and such. In the Air Force, I didn't have time to prep anymore so I just tried winging things with...

What materials must a Player have/bring with them at a game session?

My players are of the casual variety so they only need to bring themselves and their dice. I have extra pencils and the books and they ask me to keep their character sheets for them. Technically, I have more than enough dice for to go around, but we're all superstitious about dice. :D

Do you keep your Players' character sheets?

My players ask me to keep their sheets as most of them are casual players and don't think about game except on game day...thus they forget character sheets.

The Signs of a Good DM

Knowing the rules: This doesn't have to be encyclopedic knowledge, but it does mean either knowing the more common rules and knowing page references to look stuff up, even it is marking the pages of the rule book with tabs or something.

Here's a possible in-game solution... BBEG wizard or demon or some other powerful magic person teleports the party in their sleep to a death-trap dungeon, sans equipment. The group will have to work together to survive. For added fun, put collars on them that transfer wounds to every party...

    NPC "Personality Types" You Love?

The mysterious tailor who knows too much - Based loosely on the Cardassian tailor from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In my current campaigns, it's a halfling who happens to be the god of mischief and trickery in disguise. The reformed villain or the fallen hero - sometimes both at the same time...

    Transformers mythos questions

Judging from G1 Kup's war stories, many of those critters are likely to be from different planets. The Ickyack, for example, was encountered on a planet called Beta 4.

    Transformers mythos questions

Laserbeak's alternate mode in the first episode of the original animated series wasn't exactly a "beast" but it was essentially a flying disk with a bird-like camera head. The sharkticons from Transformers: The Movie were never confirmed as originating on Cybertron, but they were transformers...
