Twilight, the Uncertain Knight, and the Distressed Damsel

I agree with hexgrid in that the villainization of the Twilight series is very much like the demonization of D&D in the 80s, or the Doom video game in the 90s. I've read the first three books and enjoy them, though the teen angst gets a little heavy at times. There's nothing there that...

Describe your campaign in 10 words or less

The Un-Named Universe - Not a website but a forum on my site with the world info and discussion for the chat campaign I run on Monday evenings.

Describe your campaign in 10 words or less

Pathfinder, Spelljammer, Dragonstar, Council of Wyrms: mix thoroughly.

    Ashardalon

No, the Big Ash tends to have heavy demonic and undead influences for being a big bad dragon.

    Ashardalon

The underlying plot actually involves Demogorgon and the secret battle between his two heads. The demon-heart that Ashardalon possesses would allow one of Demogorgon's heads to take full control of the demon lord, effectively eliminating the other personality. In order to get the demon-heart...

    Ashardalon

I ran through the entire 3.0 Ashardalon series back in 2002 and am currently running them again. SPOILERS!!! The Sunless Citadel finds the group exploring a ruined citadel once operated by a cult dedicated to Ashardalon. In the lower levels, they encounter an insane druid who has discovered...

    Tiny air elemental familiar?

I can see doing this with other elementals as well. An Earth Elemental familiar would make a perfect pet rock. :D

    Do you need more dice?

Yet another reason to "need" new dice... My wife and I are both superstitious about our dice. We like to have a different set for each new player character. Old dice seem to have a way of rolling bad when used for the 'wrong' character. :D

    Do you need more dice?

Regarding custom dice bags, one of my players makes them. She knits them just like some people knit ugly sweaters. :D Dice bags are infinitely cooler than ugly sweaters.

    Do you need more dice?

It's a collector thing, I think. A lot of us RPGers are also compulsive collectors. My wife and I are both amateur dice connaisseurs, with a couple of dice bags full each. Oh, and the dice bags are custom made. ;) Plus, they make great stocking stuffers! :D

    So... Psionics?

I'm just porting it all in "as-is" except for skills of course. I'm not concerned too much with game balance, though.

Pathfinder 1E What does your Pathfinder game and game world look and feel like?

The Un-Named Universe Still looking for players, too, if you're interested. ;)

Pathfinder 1E What does your Pathfinder game and game world look and feel like?

I'm running a chat based campaign on Monday evenings that doesn't use the core setting. Instead, it is a Spelljammer/Dragonstar style campaign where Earth, upon inventing hyperdrive, discovers a galaxy populated not by Star Trek style races and technology, but by fantasy style races and magic...

Fantasy RPGs that do things... different?

Blue Rose from Green Ronin is d20 enough to feel familiar to D&D players, while having a setting and enough mechanics changes to get that different feel you're going for, with a focus on narrative, politics, and romance.

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder...In Space!

I've run the first session. I adapted the Expert NPC class into a PC class (basically just added some class features and bonus feats) and am using D20 Modern for the guns and other more modern style equipment. Its going quite well, so far. You can see all the juicy details here.

"Syndrome" Syndrome: or the Fallacy of "Special"

The "anti-political correctness" message is in the movie, though never stated outright. It is most apparent when Bob and Helen are arguing after Bob comes in late. At one point Bob says, "They keep coming up with new ways to celebrate mediocrity." This is in reference to Dash's 'graduation'...

"Syndrome" Syndrome: or the Fallacy of "Special"

I'd revise this slightly by saying that it's not about holding Dash back in the foot race; it's about Dash learning to use his gifts to benefit the team (his family). The Incredibles (the family) can be used as something of an analogy to a 4E adventuring party. Each has a role to play and a...

"Syndrome" Syndrome: or the Fallacy of "Special"

There is a balance that can be achieved between a believable world and a game where every player has a chance for spotlight time and/or the opportunity to excel. Whether any given edition of D&D has achieved that balance is a matter of debate, obviously.

"Syndrome" Syndrome: or the Fallacy of "Special"

In the context of a believable fantasy world, that makes perfect sense. In the context of a game meant to be enjoyed cooperatively by a group, its a very bad thing as it detracts from the enjoyment of the game by allowing one player (the one playing the high level wizard or cleric) to do...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder...In Space!

I'm thinking of doing a Dragonstar/Spelljammer like campaign, using Pathfinder rules. First, any mechanical issues with adding guns and technology to Pathfinder? Any suggestions on how such things would interact with the Pathfinder rules? Second, I'm thinking of doing an Expert style class...
