    Roleplaying Despite Continually Horrific Rolls

QFT. Despite this, I own multiple sets of dice, from many different manufacturers, and I swear that I have "lucky" and "unlucky" dice. I know it's not true in my head, but I still end up choosing one set of dice over all the rest disproportionately often.

Avenger Question: Censure of Unity and Strength of Many Power

Oh, I've got Fury's Advance. The game is starting at 4th level, and Hendal Forgehelm is tailored towards laying the smack down in the midst of his Fighter, Paladin, Slayer, and Warpriest melee buddies. :)

Wow, do I hate rolling for stats!

I have to join the conversation on the side of those against random stat generation. I've just become too much of a fan of the balanced party - when everyone has the same number of points to buy their stats with, it makes sure that no one feels like they're playing second fiddle. But that's...

Avenger Question: Censure of Unity and Strength of Many Power

I'll playing in an upcoming all-dwarf game, and I've decided to try out the Avenger - the only class I have yet to see a player of mine decide to run. So, I get to try something out that our group has yet to try out. I've decided I like the Censure of Unity class feature for a dwarf dedicated...

How many EN Worlders are within 100 miles of you?

145 by my count. I live in Lancaster County, PA. So, I'm close enough to get the Philadelphia, NYC, Baltimore, and Washington DC metro areas, however.

    Gentle Repose and Resurrection Power

I...want to allow it. But I don't think I would if it ever came up. They (Raise Dead and Resurrection) clearly are defined differently - one is a spell power the other is a ritual. Gentle repose specifically refers to functioning to extend the length of time a body is viable to be raised...

Interpreting Cunning Stalker Feat from HotFK

Yup. This. This reminds me of the discussion I had with two different gaming groups regarding the 2nd-level Ranger Utility "Hunter's Privilege." It's trigger reads, "You make an initiative check at the beginning of an encounter and your check result is higher than any other combatant’s". I...

    Monster Quiz at Wizards

18/20. But to be fair, I've never laid eyes on anything pre-2e AD&D. ;)

    Unexpected Return

You were right. Immediate Reactions are resolved after the action that caused it is resolved. So, in this case, the fighter fell to 0 HP or fewer, dropped unconscious, and then was able to spend a healing surge to regain HP and consciousness. Prone.

What cool things are happening in your campaigns RIGHT NOW!

Wow. After reading through this thread so far, I've determined I run a far less fantastical game than most people. Not a commentary on anyone else's game - just my own. Self-realization and all. Anywho... (Also, speaking of conversions of the Forge of Fury...) -- the party is currently...

The Dungeons & Dragons Virtual Table

I agree, and thought the same thing. But if that was the case, then what is wrong with saying "it doesn't currently integrate with our existing online tools, but such functionality is intended to be in place for final release?" It says "yeah, it doesn't do it *now*, but we'd like it to, and...

The Dungeons & Dragons Virtual Table

Just going by the text in the FAQ that states that the newly announced VTT does not integrate with the CB or the online Monster Builder (yay!)...I have to ask the question... Why? Why do this at all? There are applications out there that already provide functionality for this. And those...

Your Sword & Sorcery / Fantasy Fiction D&D Dream Party?

Bard: Thom Merrilin, from Wheel of Time. He's the DEFINITIVE bard, in my opinion.

Wizards: Musings on the new DDi disaster

Productive, really. Way to bring a lot to the discussion table. Seriously, though - as one of these mystical "WotC apologists", I feel obligated to blow your mind and say that I understand the negativity directed towards Wizards. I just don't join in it, and tend to think people complain too...

    Temp Hp and full health

Temp HP is tracked separately (and removed first, in the case of taking damage), so you can ALWAYS gain temp HP. The only restriction is that if you already have 5 temp HP, and something occurs to grant you say, 3 more, you don't gain them. They don't stack. You keep the 5. Now, if you had...

    D&D "Flavors..."

Some of us would say "Cool." Others of us would decry WotC for making such a blatant and obvious cash grab at the expense of their beleaguered and cash-strapped consumers.

Aliies in area blast and burst attks??

They don't say "affects enemies and allies" because both enemies AND allies can be described as "creatures." It's a simpler way to say "it hits everything in the affected area." But don't stop there, the Creatures category includes animal companions, familiars, constructs summoned by Figurines...

    D&D "Flavors..."

    It has a flavor? I couldn't resist.
