I don't see it as a double standard by default. Different campaigns, after all, are different, and one of those differences very well may be different allowed books. That said, one person's reason for allowing/wanting something in one campaign, but not in another could be a double standard...

Off the top of my head, the only such scenes are medical/hospital stuff (fairly accepted once one is past the "in a hospital/am I alright?") or Austin Powers (which isn't exactly a serious depiction; "how do you like your quasi-futuristic outfits?")

Not counting campaigns that have failed to get off the ground after a session or two, and possibly some PbP games because I don't know the playets' genders in all cases), it's been at least 10-15 years since one of my games would have failed your RPG version of Bledchel's test.

I don't have my packet with me, but one thing I noticed that I haven't seen mentioned - in the character advancement bit, where it talks about +1 to two attributes, there was a mention of a max 20. Had that been known before?
