Ah... I was wondering why the sun was shining brighter today. Buh-bye Canucks.

GAME OF THRONES #4Garden of Bones: ACT 14 Chapter 2-2012

Hmm... Maybe I missed something last episode, but why did Littlefinger have Ned's bones? Did the Lannisters know Catelyn was treating with Renly?

That's a deterent. Of course, talking heads will wonder why earlier hits like got nothing like that.

Yeah. I can't really think of anything useful Raffi Torres has brought to the NHL.

    Dominate person question?

I can't say whether not attacking is against his nature or not, but it wouldn't be self-destructive - that's typically reserved for stuff like seppeku or jumping in lava. There's a break in causation between ceasing an attack and the succubus coming for him that makes it not self-destructive.

My hockey pool is likely shot - at best, I'm thinking I'll have picked 50%. Unless the wackiness really ups itself.

    Handling Cheating

That's probably part of it. The other group of DMs that I frequently see cheating are the "it must happen this way" crowd. They don't mind the players winning, but they fell the need to build up their big scary villain in a particular way, and when the dice don't follow that script, they resort...

    Handling Cheating

Well... one example, as stated above, is that he can roll a 1 in a game where a 1 is an automatic miss, and yet declare it a hit. Not everything a GM does is cheating. But some things can be.

    Handling Cheating

We've stayed this a few times - not everything a GM does is cheating. But some things can be. IE: GM rolls a natural 1 on a monster's attack roll, but claims to have hit. That would be cheating. Could a justification be found? Possibly. That's not the point though, because it's just as...

GAME OF THRONES #3:What Is Dead May Never Die ACT 13 Chapter 2-2012

I also like Theon's retort against his father kneeling to Robert - it shows his spunk, but also highlights how he always blamed his faults on others. Good character moment.

The Tyrells are Tyrells. I think they're just as scheming as the Lannisters, but they try to be more subtle about it, and succeed more often than not. They are better than the Lannisters at putting up the appearances of chivalry too.

Yeah. I don't think that's what is meant by "politics makes strange bedfellows"

You may joke, but there has always been a strong Cthulhu-esque vibe in the Ironborn's worship of the Drowned God. And krakens have tentacle-goodness too.

    Handling Cheating

Not the same situation. However, if the experienced player said, "we'll use a set of chess rules that don't allow castling or taking en passant", and then proceeded to actually use castling or en passant, then it would be cheating. Doesn't matter. We're not saying the GM always cheats. We're...

    Stanley Cup Playoffs 2012

Your Wings definitely came back strong in game two, and wiht the split stole home-ice advantage. They may make it out of round 1 yet. And I'm so happy with LA right now. I want the Canucks gone so much...
