PS3 600 dollars? Sony is on crack

My original line was of course in the context of the conversation which was launching game consoles... When I said games, did you presume I meant PC or board games should be included in that statement? ;)

    The SRD

That's normal for most sites. I do web dev professionally, and I always suggest to clients that they just use Google's search whenever possible. It saves them money and they will never have a better search engine. They can even brand it somewhat to their own site. Helpful tip: append...

Word Document to Power Point: Possible?

I believe it can be used effectively, but I also truly believe its original purpose was avoid actual content by displaying something pretty. Just as an Nvidia card, designed for pure entertainment, can be effectively used in engineering.

Word Document to Power Point: Possible?

Power Point is used so that no one pays any attention to the nonsense coming out of the presenter's mouth. It's a last ditch effort of those who have nothing to say. Or, of course, there are those in a corporate environment who expect this sort of mediocrity and those in school being prepped...

PS3 600 dollars? Sony is on crack

PS3 lite at $427 ($499 in US), Wii at $212 ($250 in US), 360 core system at $256 ($299 in US). I reiterate, launch console hardware is cheaper in Japan.

PS3 600 dollars? Sony is on crack

Here's yet another report (citing "multiple information sources") of PS3 games costing more than current gen. http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=10992 This story places prices for PS3 Japan games at $75-$84. I know hardware tends to be cheaper in Japan, but I'm sure of...

    XML Tutorial

It really depends on exactly what you are trying to learn. If you are looking into understanding XML, that only takes about 2 paragraphs to explain if you already know how HTML works. If you want to learn the DOM, w3schools is a good place, but I actually find the official docs at...

PS3 600 dollars? Sony is on crack

Yes, but isn't that the same show they dropped the news that Gran Turismo HD will cost $400+ to get the whole game? Edit: I suppose I should explain this for people who may not be aware. Gran Turismo HD will be release with two different SKUs, one Classic, the other Premium. Classic will come...

Same thing as before: They are coming. Please hurry. Find us. Save us. Or, if it is too late... Save the rest. Find them. They are out there.

    DarkMatter d20?

I'd say so. IMO, D*M is the best single product TSR/WotC ever produced. Monte Cook and Wolfgang Baur are fantastic.

Where did this art come from??

Yahoo! and Google are both supposedly working on image recognition/search technology. Perhaps if you wait a bit longer, you'll be able to upload the file and they'll tell you.

    Swordfish: Gabriel Shear - Alignment?

I say LE. His purpose is the greater good of America, making him lawful. His methods (ends justify means) make him lawful. He's Machiavellian in the extreme. That's definitely lawful.

How many people in a 250 year old Graveyard?

Assuming the town has been of 150 people for a while (due to emmigration or death) I'd say 500 is pretty reasonable. On the other hand, it might be a bit high if the people have grown to 150 over the generations. If you go back in the day, people used to have perhaps 4 children who grew up to...

    Moorcock blasts Tolkien

I disagree (except for the Hobbit). They are written in such a way as to be appropriate for children, but I wouldn't say that it was a childish tone or childish themes. They were mythological. Read Beowulf, it comes off the same way.

    No Ability Scores, just Modifiers

I suggested bonuses at 2, 6, 12, 20. Only four modifier bonuses. Which is the same a 5 ability score bonuses optimally applied to 3 odd and 3 even ability scores.
