    A workable fantasy economy?

This is very offensive. I understand you mightn't agree with what I have to say but to then call my genuine contributions threadcrapping is extremely offensive.

    A workable fantasy economy?

Thanks friend. This will really aid the verisimilitude in my game. My 12th level Half Orc Accountant will go nuts with this.

    A workable fantasy economy?

I'd suggest a bonus to retention checks proportional to level of immersion in the native culture. Requiring a check more often than annually is probably going overboard however.

    A workable fantasy economy?

I'm sorry for being rude. Wow that's excellent. What would you say is the coolest example of how it's influenced your game at the table? As a linguist I think the language system needs some work as well. Something like 4 or 5 tiers of proficiency with corresponding bonuses and penalties to...

    A workable fantasy economy?

Why do I need to be helpful? I'm asking the :):):):)ing questions here. That means it's somebody else's job to be helpful. A guy can't be insanely curious once in a while?

    A workable fantasy economy?

So much mind-numbing work! Is this really going to enhance your game? Do you play with a bunch of economists or something? Or is this what you do instead of game?

4E, Ashen Crown, and Dungeon Crawls

I don't see anything wrong with your post but neither do I understand the point of it. Why did you quote me?

What adventure module defines D&D to you?

In hindsight I think it is probably far too linear but when I ran it as a 12 year old my players took the bait every time. What went wrong when you played it?

4E, Ashen Crown, and Dungeon Crawls

Yes. 4e definitely doesn't pretend to hide its abstractions. I think we all agree it's not intended to be a simulation. It certainly suits the style of game where everybody agrees to yell "CUT!" and move on to the next interesting bit, whether that be the next scene or an out of character...

Falling out of love with your game

Is it worth reporting posts like this? Insulting our intelligence is still insulting us. Thanks. This. At first I totally loved the idea, but after so much prep work I began to grow tired of it, even as early as about 2003. It also led to the idea amongst many gamers that any option the DM...

What editions are preferred by people who vote in polls?

They're not worth a pinch of :):):):) but I vote in polls because I do find their results and ensuing discussion interesting.

What editions are preferred by loyalists?

    Just happened to me too.

What editions are preferred by loyalists?

I'm tempted to become a Community Supporter but I'm deterred by the feeling that many of the posters here tend to be openly hostile to my edition of choice. But maybe I'm just paranoid.

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

Two words: skill challenges. And ultimately, the non-combat mechanical aspect of the characters only affects information collection - the analysis belongs to the players. The fewer skills suit my taste for fast-and-loose adjudication, as well as being easier to prepare skill challenges for...

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

Totally. Hence the couple of guys still trying to assert that the differences between the two polls mean anything objective. As has already been pointed out, more meaningful is the statistic showing differences in participation between the two polls. Or the massive difference between edition...

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

Do you really think these are the two ends of the one and only continuum? I'm neither a fan of dungeons nor of RP-heavy games. I mostly love the problem-solving aspect of the game (mystery, intrigue) and while I like combat I don't want it taking place in a dungeon. 4e suits my play style...

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

True. I voted that I love 4e and I like 3e. But just because I like 3e doesn't mean I don't hope it dies a painful death. Its continued existence is fracturing the hobby. I'm sure fans of 3e feel the same way about 4e which is why so many of them voted that they hate it.

4E, Ashen Crown, and Dungeon Crawls

The main reason I love 4e is that I love interesting combat but loathe dungeons. The whole idea of a hole in the ground filled with any kind of encounter rubs me the wrong way. I just don't see anything worth fighting (or fighting over) ending up in a hole in the ground. It's all about real...

    Confession: I like Plot

More semantics. You're really good at this game.
