    Online Stores

I'll have to throw in a plug for www.bamm.com (That's Books-A-Million's website.) They charge you $10 for a membership card, but it saves you an extra 10%, which usually puts the discount at 33%, which tends to be less than amazon.com. (I got my WoT d20 book for $28 after shipping.) The only...

    Egyptian Adventures!

Chosen of Set Come on! What's with gnolls as the chosen of Set? Go for the Yuan-Ti! I like the dwarves and elves as "peoples". I think it does a good job of making the setting Egyptian without making it Egypt. :) I would definently find the setting fun.

[OT] What Wierdness is in *your* inbox?

Just came in! That's right, I must be so naughty GOD is spamming me! And then there is the always disturbing:

Question to Game store owners/empl - Shoplifting?

The FLGS that I used to work at actually offers a reward in store credit for turning in shoplifters. :) They also keep all the dice in a glass case at the counter and put those things that set off the sensors at the door if they aren't deactivated on the minis and in the RPG books. I think...

Hypothetical: If DnD had never existed, BUT...

Mage, Vampire, and 7th Sea since those are the ones that I play other than dD&D. :)

What are your feelings on combat mats?

I actually tend to use a chessboard, because I'm too cheap to go ahead and buy a battlemat. With only two players, one of which plays a medium size character and one who plays a large, it's really easy to just use the chess pieces to represent everyone, although I've only run small-scale...

    Help sought: Holy "bard" adaptation?

Well, at one time I was working on a "Divine Chorister" PrC that was similar to what you were suggesting, only with more focus on combining singing with holy effects, like he could use his voice as a divine focus, so there was less need for holy symbols. Also, they gained to ability to add...

    Book Names in a Library

I like what Raymond E. Feist did with one wizard's library. There were like 10 or 12 volumes just entitled "Magic". Something like "A History of the Moonsea" would always be good too. "[Insert name here]'s Travels", stuff like that. :)

[OT, sidekicks] Trapper John or BJ Honeycutt?

Well, seeing as I'm not an afficianado and haven't seen all to many episodes with Trapper, I'm going to go for BJ. :)

If I bought WoTC I would......[your answer here]

No, WotC doesn't get a cut when the d20 logo is used, they just get the line "Requires the use of the Player's Handbook from Wizards of the Coast." (or something very similar) in every product that uses the d20 logo. Which is why I went the my scheme above. :)

To Dm's: What is your favorite monster/bad guy to throw at the oarty?

Stirges. Lots, and lots of stirges. Hordes of them. Enough to turn the sky black. And they all want your blood!

If I bought WoTC I would......[your answer here]

I'd sell off everything but the RPG department. I'd run everything in the pipes out the door, drop all the campaign settings, and figure out what high-volume books need to be published, like moster manuals, re-done classbooks, etc. Fire everyone that wasn't necessary to make those items. I'd...

    Aramis, Jesuits, and Swashbuckling Adventures

The women would be Sophia's Daughters. :) As for the church book, I haven't picked it up either... I know there are some swordsman schools in there, for church defender types, but that's not what you're looking for... I haven't looked at the ordained feat, but does it give you access to...

    Aramis, Jesuits, and Swashbuckling Adventures

I'm not real familiar with Swashbuckling Adventures, but I'm very familiar with 7th Sea, which is what SA is based off of. From what I read of the review, I would probably use something like noble or courtier for a priest. Give him plenty of Knowledge (Religion) and maybe come up with an...

Occult Killings and Tarot Cards ...

I'm not real familiar with Ravenloft, but Ravenloft is designed to be very hard to get out of, right? Well, what if this spirit deck will give the bearer a way to escape Ravenloft? Or if by doing a reading with it, it'll tell him where/when/how to find an artifact of great power?

Games that are fun, but need a one-in-a-million GM

I think a lot of White Wolf's games are hard to run the way the company means you to run them. They are about personal horror, so it takes a very perceptive and mildly sadistic GM to run them and to really get down into your character's psyche and mess with him. I've had this happen once...

    Book Recommendations

I have to recommend the series of books known as The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist. He has another ten or so books out, but you should read those first. They're great classic fantasy.

    Templates and OGC

Although, if it was published by Wizards, it's a no-no unless it came from the SRD. And as for Drawmack, even if no one ever finds out you broke a law, you still broke the law, which he may not be willing to do. :)

    [OT] Favorite Band?

Well, instead of being very general, I'll get very specific. There are only four CD's I can listen to over and over again, day after day: 1. The Sickness by Disturbed 2. ...And Out Came the Wolves by Rancid 3. Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy by The Refreshments (It's okay to laugh at me for the...
