    Armor/Load affect non-land speeds?

Well, logically they should. I mean the point is that the heavy load slows you down and I don't see why it doesn't slow you down in other modes of personal transportation. You could look at swimmers in real life and see them slow down when they have heavier loads to carry.

What is your favorite evil cult?

Tharizdun? Wow, I'd forgotten about that one . . .

    Points for Style

In play that is true, but it is also true that on paper some classes just sound better than others. Sapphire Hierarch as written in Magic of Incarnum, for example, has a rich background that the Mystic Theurge, as written on the DMG's pages, simply lacks. Soul Knives sound cooler than...

    Points for Style

There has been the Tier system listing classes (and prestige classes) in terms of power, but has there been one listing them in terms of style? I mean Warlock should be up there. The class just drips with style. And Sapphire Hierarch for the prestige classes. Compare them to the functionally...

Aura, Detect Law, Clerics, Incarnates and Sapphire Hierarchs

Ok, Clerics with no god but the Law domain give off an aura of law. LN Incarnates also give off an aura of law. Do these stack? Would a Cleric 5/Incarnate 5 give off the same strength of aura as an Incarnate 10? (Note a similar question could be asked about a Cleric of no god with the Good...

D&D 3.x [3.5] What Tier would a Psion who *only* had metacreativity powers be?

Well, the craft skills help. Craft (sculpting) not only makes the astral constructs look more defined, it is a requirement for using the Ectoplasmic Adept prestige class's powers. Some of the other craft skills can be used when using the creation or fabricate powers, assuming one is making...

D&D 3.x [3.5] What are all the 20 level classes that have 6 or more skill points per level?

Factotum Rogue Scout Ninja Spellthief Ranger Bard Beguiler Expert Others??? I am sure that I am missing some. Which ones am I missing? Interestingly of the core prestige classes I think only Shadowdancer makes the cut. But since there are so very many prestige classes I imagine it would be...

D&D 3.x [3.5] What Tier would a Psion who *only* had metacreativity powers be?

36 powers are on the psion/wilder and shaper lists in the two books - the numbered lists are as if the psion were taking the higher level powers as soon as possible, but at high levels this becomes a problem as one runs out of higher level powers and has to dip down into the lower level powers...

D&D 3.x [3.5] What Tier would a Psion who *only* had metacreativity powers be?

I am assuming a psion who only has metacreativity powers, doesn't Use Psionic Device (or other means) to get around that, one who simply (for whatever reason, including social reasons) does not learn or use other powers. Would such a character be Tier 1? Tier 2? Other? Assume Complete Psionic...

How would you RP this character?

Can the OP do a Gilbert Gottfried voice? ;)

I like Magic of Incarnum but...

Also, it would be a bit unfair for Incanates to be as good at being combat monsters as regular combat monsters, because incarnates have the versatility ability too (they can be skill-monkeys the next day, for example). So the price for jack of all trades is master of none.

I like Magic of Incarnum but...

I have heard that Sapphire Hierarch is the way to go if you want stackable combat goodness. In fact, I once dreamed of a "red vs. blue" scenario between these guys and Ruby Knight Vindicators, since just because you are both LN does not mean you always get along.

    Phantasmal Killer and Spellcraft

It could even be "You detect that the Wizard casts an illusion. By a coincidence, the thing you fear most in the world reaches for your heart and kills you, so you will never know what illusion that Wizard was casting."

rules qu: Bo9S, can a 1st level human warlock take martial study/martial stance?

I had this idea for taking martial study and martial stance from Book of Nine Swords at 1st level to get some fire resistance for a human warlock at 1st level, but was not sure it is legal. I think the manifester level for non-manifesters is 1/2 one's level to get one's virtual manifester level...

Fighter, Rogue, Blaster, Healer . . . Balanced?

I mean, on could have a 96 point buy or a 100d6 drop the lowest 97 dice stat roll, and get all 18s either way, right? [Sorry it was taking too long to edit so I am trying this instead]

    Doing it the hard way?

Has anyone played in or run a 3rd edition game in which the PCs were generated either by 3d6 6 times, in order, or by a 15 point buy? How did it go?

Fighter, Rogue, Blaster, Healer . . . Balanced?

Well this thread has been well and truly derailed. :) IME, when using rolled stats, class is picked after stats are rolled. The only exception I can think of is when using Method V (IIRC: the one in in Unearthed Arcana) for generating stats in 1st ed AD&D. when one had to specify class...

Fighter, Rogue, Blaster, Healer . . . Balanced?

I had heard that the 3.5 game is more balanced if you have the "fab 4" of Fighter, Rogue, Cleric and Wizard, but the Wizard is restricted to blasting spells (and say read magic) and the cleric is restricted to healing spells (including also things like remove paralysis, neutralize poison, raise...
