Pathfinder 1E Hide in Plain Sight = poor man's invisibility?

That won't be a problem. I am aiming for 3 levels of SD, and so can easily get that either via the combat trick or just spending a feat (since dodge and mobility are already needed to be a SD anyhow). Thanks for all your replies!

Pathfinder 1E Does inflict light wounds work 100% on a shadow?

On trying to "heal" a shadow, an incorporeal undead, I was wondering if Inflict Light Wounds: a) Works just fine. b) Only cures 50% of the hp of the shadow c) Works only 50% of the time, but if it works it works just fine.

Pathfinder 1E Hide in Plain Sight = poor man's invisibility?

I have a Barbarian 5/Shadowdancer 1 and just gained Hide in Plain Sight. So, if I am within 10 feet of shadows, I can hit a guy in meelee and in the same round use a move action to hide in plain sight, and if my stealth beats the guy's perception, I am effectively hidden? I imagine the guy...

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder] rules to live by? (monk)

There may be a campaign starting up in which I would play a Catfolk Monk. The alignment system will be downplayed, but there will be 3 rules that a monastery would place on me. I am trying to come up with three good ones. Catfolk in this campaign would probably be seen as somewhat tainted, so I...

    Ideas for reskins

Maybe the slaadi would be more "chaotic" if they were cat-like instead of frog-like? More of a predator, nice-now-but-might-suddenly-try-to-eat-you, sorta thing? And there is always the idea of changing all the psionic stuff into "faerie gem magic". Other ideas?

D&D 3.x [3.5] Can you add class levels to all monsters?

I don't know about fighter levels but the second unicorn entry in the MM has a celestial template and 7 levels of cleric, and clerics have armor proficiency too (Treat as Barding? Give the unicorn a virgin cohort to help put on the armor?) ;)

D&D 3.x [3.5] Can you add class levels to all monsters?

Well except you get things like the Unicorn and the Aboleth and the Mummy, that on the one hand say they advance by HD (and don't mention class levels) and on the other hand have example monsters in the MM that have class levels. I didn't know if they were exceptions or whether in general all...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Can you add class levels to all monsters?

Contrariwise, are there any monsters that one *cannot* add class levels to?

What if everyone was a monk?

Thanks for your comments, Everyone being the same class would mean that the individuality would come from something else, but I don't think it would disappear. I think I would leave the crafting feats, but only beings with spell-like abilities could access them. So there would be a rarity of...

What if everyone was a monk?

Picture a setting in which there is no other character class. No NPC classes, bloodlines, races as classes (except for monster HD as per the monster manual), gestalt, prestige classes, variant classes, or anything else I have forgotten. Everyone is a monk as per the PHB. Every monster capable...

In Canada they are phasing out the copper piece . . .

    Possible issue with "cool"/"iconic" monsters

    1) It has been said by some that 3.x games are progressively harder to DM at high levels. One solution to this is to keep things at lower levels (either by the E6 method, or just by retiring characters at some level, say 10th, and starting over). 2) Some of the monsters that are iconic and cool...

    Fantasycraft, Legend, others?

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I was wondering what people thought of the two games.

    To maximize something silly.

I like both ideas. Now we are up to 330' in non-magical darkness! :)

How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

I think there is a slight disconnect between "fantasy medieval like in movies like the Princess Bride and book like Guards!Guards!" and "realistic medieval". I don't expect guards in medieval times to look for fingerprints, even if they really did. I expect more of a Terry Pratchett view of...

Any down sides to having DM fail to detect illusions?

With all this talk about "arbitrariness" and "Game Balance" and trusting the designers over players and all that, I wonder if Arrowhawk thinks that the Tier system is valid (which holds that some classes are way, way better than others), or that, since the 3.5 PHB has the classes listed, without...

    A silly question about Evasion

Besides, a rogue is only a feat or multi-class away from gaining proficiency with shields, were that the issue (but it isn't, as earlier posters have noted).

    To maximize something silly.

I want to see how high I can push darkvision. Half-orc Sorcerer 9/Shadow Dancer 2 with the Shadow Bloodline and the Deepsight feat (both in Advanced Players Guide, the only book I have besides the core book) can push it up to 210', but that is as far as I got. Anyone got ideas on how to boost...

How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

I note that pathfinder changes the skill needed to identify the spell school from spellcraft to knowledge arcana. Presumably less people will have the latter than the former, so that somewhat weakens DM. Interesting.

How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

Not fingerprints in medieval fantasy, surely. :) And I have seen cop shows where the sheriff says "let him go" and the cops just let a guy go, no paperwork needed. Presumably this could also work in a fantasy medieval game. If the place is that bureaucratic then we need help from the rogue...
