Plus one to all skills feat. Does one exist?

Pathfinder has a different version of the Bard. The bardic knowledge ability of the pathfinder bard might be what you are looking for. There is also a 3rd party prestige class called "Echo of the Ancestors" that has a class ability that lets you remember something from the ancestral well of...

    Shades

Yep. A nasty interpretation is one in which the real thing is called, but you only have an 80% chance to even try to contain it, assuming it makes its will save vs. the illusion. :)

    Celestial that fell to Gehenna

Well I guess kind of like a suburban, living away from the "Big City" of Hell but close to it, on the outskirts. A little more freedom, but still very regulated. I'm imagining a pot belly, a nice lawn, a barbecue set. I mean this is Hell Jr. Mabye the Celestial thinks it will be easier to...

    D&D 3.x Spell Resistance (3.5)

Um, no. Spell Resistance is always on and resists all spells, not just spells that are attacks. From the SRD: "Spell resistance is the extraordinary ability to avoid being affected by spells." One silver lining. You automatically are affected by your own spells, so at least you can buff and...

    D&D 3.x Spell Resistance (3.5)

"A creature can voluntarily lower its spell resistance. Doing so is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. Once a creature lowers its resistance, it remains down until the creature’s next turn. At the beginning of the creature’s next turn, the creature’s spell...

What books are allowed? Is Pathfinder allowed? Are 3rd Party materials allowed?

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

I doubt that the two of us will convince each other, and I don't even know if the OP is still reading this thread. For what it is worth, I sent off a question about it to Robin D. Laws (one of the names on the cover of the book in which the Hellfire Warlock appears) to see if one can derive...

The fallen celestials Archimedes and Alusiel

Alusiel should look like a super-cool Jazz Singer. Archimedes should look like a cyborg.

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

Not Deceive item. A Hellfire Warlock cannot have less than 6 Warlock levels due to the Warlock Invocation prerequisite. The Hellfire Warlock will thus definitely have Deceive Item (the ability to "Take 10" on UMD) already, since the Warlock gains that at level 4. If you mean Imbue Item, a...

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

I would argue that if the Hellfire is changed to Acid, then it is no longer hellfire and no longer does the bonus damage. If the Acid is changed to Hellfire, then it is no longer acid and no longer auto-penetrates SR. As slightly more evidence I note that, despite gaining "new invocations...

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

Your option d is my option c. I am claiming that hellfire/acid doesn't make sense in the context of the game, which is not, as far as I can tell, a game the recognizes the quantum mechanics at work in our universe. Therefore, I am claiming that the game designers either did not take classes in...

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

Wait. I can see three possible interpretations here, but one doesn't make sense to me: a) the vitriolic hellfire blast means xd6 acid stuff (based on the warlock class) and 2-6d6 hellfire stuff (only the added 2 to 6d6 being hellfire, and thus it being subject to sr but not the acid stuff...

Gnome race for BECMI - opinions?

For what it is worth, TSR did come up with a gnome PC race in the supplement PC2 Creature Crucible: Top Ballista. There is the regular underground gnome and the skygnome, a rare clan, that lives in a flying city (not too far from Tinker Gnomes in Dragonlance).

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

Overcoming Spell Resistance is a good point. If you use the essence Hellfire Blast then you presumably can't simultaneously use the essence Vitriolic Blast (the acid one that ignores SR) so you have to take SR into account. And if you take a level of Binder, that is -1 warlock caster level...

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

WotC's own examples for feats for Warlocks include such things as Maximum Spell-Like Ability (Eldritch Blast) and Quicken Spell-Like Ability (Eldritch Blast). Page 214, Players Handbook II. Btw, they also have Ability Focus (Eldritch Blast). Also, Complete Arcane pp. 71-2 says "Warlocks and...

Actually you can but you don't use the Empower Spell feat, you use the Empower Spell-like Ability feat (I think in the MM). So 3x/day, you can Empower it if your caster level is high enough. Eldritch Blast (unmodified) is a 1st level spellike ability (per the FAQ), but I don't know about...

    Helping a friend out.

For flavour, she might look at the dwarf racial class (3 levels) in Unearthed Arcana, or possibly Dwarven Defender in the DMG, but assuming that she wants to go pure dwarf fighter I would KISS for the first character. 1. p. attack, cleave. 2. w. focus dwarven war ax (or greatax) 3. Iron Will...

D&D 3.x 3.5: newb needs a little help with Hellfire Warlock build

The reason it is disputed is the thought that, if the Con damage is prevented, then the hellfire doesn't activate. That is why it is less controversial to go for items and abilities that heal con damage. p.90: "Because the diabolical fores behind the power of hellfire demand part of your...

    Need A Class Idea

With that intelligence you might consider Warblade, which is like a fighter but better, with more skills and more flashy stuff you can do. Tome of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords has details on it. hell it even has some grapply stuff if you take some Stone Dragon maneuvers.
