    Remembrancer

Me too! I thought maybe it was because the cleric class was so closely tied to undead (with the turning ability and all) and because clerics are pretty concerned with life and death in general, but frankly wizards have more spells that create, command or otherwise deal with undead. I can only...

    Remembrancer

That's a very good start, although I have a pretty specific vision of the class based on what is presented in the books. For example, the Abhorsens and Remembrancers in D&D terms would very much be good-aligned, since their purpose is to bind and/or destroy undead (the bells, however, could be...

Spending Experience Points to Buy Feats

Although I like the 1 feat per level for its simplicity, I have to ask what this does to the fighter class - Do they get sometimes get two feats per level (one for character level and one for fighter level when appropriate)?

    Remembrancer

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. Here some things I was thinking about: BAB and armor/weapon proficiencies: The remembrancers are only OK at combat; in the books, they do carry swords (from the description, I would have to say longswords), but they aren't necessarily the strongest fighters...

    Remembrancer

Hello all, I've been reading an excellent trilogy by Garth Nix (Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen) and I really like his Remembrancer, a type of mage that deals with death, undead and seeing into the past. In D&D/d20 terms, it is part necromancer, part bard and part loremaster. I like this so much...

    Deck of Many Things Experiences

Our party found one about a year ago in real time and the DM used the cards printed in Dragon some time ago. We all did fabulously, so the DM decides an NPC with our party wants to get in on the fun. The DM drew The Void. We all laughed about it, but the joke's really on us, since now the vacant...

    Broken Bones

Neat! Also, I remember there was a book called Torn Asunder that had a fairly detailed critical hit system. Is this the system you're using, GoGo?

    Broken Bones

So...why not just make the critical hit do Con damage? edit - jeeze, I'm really having trouble typing today. :\

    Broken Bones

hmmm...I'm NOT the best with designing rules, but I had a thought. Maybe rather than having broken bones and the like do HP damage, maybe it does Constitution damage? I realize that opens up a whole other can of worms, but it does address the cure spells not working on certain kinds of injuries...

(Win pdf books!) Week 1 complete. Click in first post for link to the week 2 thread.

I've been thinking about a playing a pacifist D&D character and wondering how I could go about it. There are plenty of non-lethal combat actions and spells to choose from, of course, but I'm trying to figure out what combination of classes (and background) would be be fun to play. Also, I'm...

    Dragon #338

This is darn spiffy...and very useful to me. I won't say which, because players in my game might be around, but two articles in particular are eeriely appropriate for my game. For the last two or three issues of both Dragon and Dungeon, it's like someone at Paizo has been reading my mind. :uhoh:

    Musiclovers beware! [UPDATED!]

I feel like I dodged a bullet. I was going to buy a CD on Amazon a few months back, but one of the reviewers was mightily angry about the DRM "feature." Not wanting to deal with that, I bought and downloaded the album from iTunes. Here's some questions I have about this technology though: 1...

    Underdark gallery and checklist up

These things just keep getting better and better. Normally I hate the "NPC" ones, but even Artemis Entreri looks great. And since I've recently discovered the joy of buying the minis individually online, I'm really happy that some of the best ones aren't rares. edit - Just realized there was a...

    Current Wish List?

Right now there is only one thing on my wish list - the Beholder D&D mini which Paizo is selling for $50. Edit: you know, to be serious a moment, it's tough for me to say any particular thing. I like it when the writers/editors come up with something that I didn't realize I wanted or...

    GMs: What's your latest module?

We're almost at the end of Mad God's Key. I fell in love with an adventure in last month's Dungeon that I plan to run next; because it is the wrong level, I'll need to modify it appropriately. :]

What exactly is Eldrich magic and where does it come from?

Monte Cook's Book(s) of Eldritch Might of course use the term "eldritch" to define a particular kind of weird magic and feats associated with it are giving the [eldritch] descriptor. But otherwise, it can pretty much come from anywhere and be whatever you want it to be. :)

Backgrounds--Does your PC have one? Does it get used?

Yes. Much to our dismay. In KidCharlemagne's game, one player plays a psion who is being hunted by assassins sent by her crazy sister. So KC took her up on that and occasionally we have to fight psionic assassins. :] But sometimes it comes up in less deadly ways. KC also had each of us choose...

    The neutrality of druids

I never got the "keeping the balance between good and evil" thing myself. However, I think there was a missed opportunity in that. I think that druids being (true) neutral could have been played as making them damn scary. So druids would probably be helpful to good-aligned creatures/characters...

Who would you pick to design Fourth Edition?

Ari Marmell - I've become a fan girl. :o Edit - and oh yeah, Mike Mearls and Monte Cook, too. :)
