    PH3 Playtest Race: Wilden

I'll be completely honest, I don't understand what direction WotC is taking 4E. I don't necessarily dislike it, but I don't really like it either. Every new race that is being released makes the game resemble old Talislanta. The Wilden is yet another odd addition to the bevy of strange races...

Forked: GTS - A need for "A robust system that handles things outside of combat"?

I think 4E would work better with non-combat encounters if they had integrated tables and the like into the DMG, instead of relegating it to the PHB. WotC, if you're listening - for DMG2 introduce some tables on how to handle social challenges! Optional rules, more robust NPC tables...

Difficulties using the dungeon tiles from Wizards of the Coast

I find them to be useful, yet a bit unwieldy due to the diminished sizes. I have personally purchased four sets of the last five releases. The price is very affordable, but it comes down to whether you as a DM or player want to justify spending that much. Personally, I'd rather use Dungeon...

Ideas for unusual or deadly cults wanted!

How about some low-magic alternative cults of normal folk? The Sons of the Carnahk This loose affiliation is comprised of "normal" folk from all walks of live; freefarmers, smallfolk, merchants of lower caliber, serfs, the destitute, whores, the lame and the poor. They're a self-named...

Exclusive interview WotC President Greg Leeds

The entire interview was complete garbage. He stated the obvious, without answering any questions. Bleh.

    What is it about rogues?

This is a player issue, not a class issue.

Interview time - what do you want to ask WotC about their new pdf policy?

Can I print and share my legally-purchased PDFs for usage at the gametable? I own a hardcover and a PDF. If so, how many copies can I print without infracting on WotC's IP?

I own hardcovers and I own PDFs legally. Can I print my PDFs to use at the gametable?

From what I understand, legally purchased copies of 4E have been disseminated to other gamers online and have resulted in a civil suit. Fair enough, I completely understand this. Can I print and share my legally-purchased PDFs for usage at the gametable? I own a hardcover and a PDF. If so, how...

    My name is "Defendant Radzikowski"

WotC is out of their mind if they believe that a civil suit in the United States is going to get any traction within Poland. Just my two cents.

    Why DON'T you pirate?

I'm a published writer and I pirate. Furthermore, I feel that pirating allows consumers to make informed buying decisions about authored products. Whereas I can peruse any book I want whenever I am at Border's, I do the same for new releases online if they're not available in stores. If I...

WotC puts a stop to online sales of PDFs

Uniquely watermarked PDFs is the way WotC really, really needs to go with this. That way, if they wanted to identify a leaked PDF they'd know who it is. There are a lot of watermarks out there that bury themselves within artwork and borders that are entirely undiscernable to the naked eye.

    D&D 4E Turning 4e into a simulationist game

Wik, if you're genuinely looking to change the costs on items, I've done a pretty extensive amount of houseruling to change prices on a grain-based economy . It also includes common salaries by profession: http://deismaar.pbwiki.com/f/CommonSalariesAndEquipment.doc As for weapon and armor...

If it's not real then why call for "realism"?

Plausibility, maturity and consistency are much better terms used to describe what some gamers deem as "realistic" games.

    "Playtest PH3 Dual Classing"

Dual classing, multiclassing, bleh. I'd handle it on a per tier basis; level 1-10 as one class, level 11-20 as another class, level 21-30 as the third class.

    Community designed martial controller

You can treat disarm as in that it automatically gives a penalty on the foe's recharge roll on the D6, or disables an encounter power for the remainder of the encounter. That would work really well.

Forked from "An Epiphany" thread: Is World Building "Necessary"?

Granted, but you're not within the demographic of people I'd have playing a D&D game at my table. My players chose me as their DM because they wanted verisimilitude, a rich history and story with action and consequences, and in turn I chose them to play in my game because I know I can craft a...
