    Are gamers really that pathetic?

(emphasis mine) North American popular culture is pervasive, it reaches everywhere. But it's far from being the global popular culture. Many things don't reach Europe, or if they do, they are just dismissed as 'americanate' (italian term). E.g. Dark Dungeons and the 'D&D is the tool of the...

    What, no Olympics thread?

I'm surprised too. It's been 24 years since our last olympic finals, and many countries did not take part to the Moscow 1980 games. I was really expecting the final to be Usa-Lithuania (and then I would have bet on the Lithuania). We're on the final of both basketball and volleyball. Not bad...

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

This much I understand. I am interested why is it that way in Anglosaxon culture, and if you feel compelled to get out because of peer pressure or because you actually feel uncomfortable.

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

If that's what you said since the beginning, than we didn't understand each other and we perfectly agree. In fact I said nothing in my posts about "ignoring" their "odious personal habits". What you just said is quite what I called "helping them find solutions to their problems too, instead of...

    Silver Bullets Chapter 2:Primo Sangue

"Mmm, it looks like I should buy some stocks of this Talon Financial while they are low, and be ready to sell them before they are caught. Good to know. No one of the jobs looks really interesting to me. I was expecting something more exciting, and more rewarding, too, but Ig guess they probably...

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

I guess you are not a financial burden if you work, and bring money back to the family to pay taxes, buy food and whatnot. But I'm very curious about how a son is an (otherwise) burden. My house has belonged to my family for three generations. My great-grandfather built it, and my grandfather...

    What, no Olympics thread?

We will play against them tonight and, frankly, I don't think we have many hopes. Still, I think our team has been great in reaching the semifinals. And if you liked so much Itay-Brazil volleyball match, what about a replay on Sunday? I hope this time we will be the ones getting a couple points...

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

Is it really that important for you people to leave home the soonest possible? I can understand if one has to go to a far away university, but otherwise?

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

Sir Elton, what about roleplaying as an escape from boredom? Oh and here in Italy the great majority of people, male and female, move out of their parent's home only when they get married, and some don't even after that. It's considered perectly normal here. Maybe North-American parents smell. ;)

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

I don't get exactly how the people you game with can influence your daughters. For a person to be a reject it takes someone to reject him. Yeah, I too hope it won't happen to your daughters, and that they will learn soon how to reject people unlike them. Thanks. Thanks for pointing out that...

    Are gamers really that pathetic?

This thread is amazing, really. Now my 2cp on the whole matter. Let's face it, our hobby means, to a certain degree, pretending to be someone else. It's bound to attract people who are unsatisfied with their life, because it offers them evasion. In a three hour window a week, they can be...

Exalted Deeds Versus Vile Darkness, the Final Confrontation!

Norin follows the slavemasters and his captors upstairs, his eyes kept low as to admit defeat, while he concentrates on a final prayer to Heironeous and invokes a wordless blessing on each of them. OOC:

[Unbounded World:The Aeterian Expedition] (Now With New And Improved Amulets!)

"Well, I'd say we have no time to waste. Let's get to the armory to get all we need for the trip, and leave at once. Tomorrow Talsia will cast her spell, but we'd better be already on the road. If something else is after us, I'd rather face it far from the city. Agreed?"

Dawnforge: Heroes of Legend - Game Restart

I'd like to try a tiefling wizard. Can you tell me what tiefling talents do, if Dawnforge tieflings are very different (in appearance and behavior) from MM and a little bit about them so I can make a proper background for him? I'm especially interested in what the other races think about them...

Detchitoyo High School: Freshmen Year, Q. 1

J.K. reluctantly waves Raya goodbye and goes looking for his friends. "Hi guys! So what's up today? I couldn't find Roichi in the whole school. What did you do to him, Lugh? What about your...disease Kryptonite?" he looks around to see if anybody is listening to them "Are you feeling better...

Age of Mortals - Knights of Solamnia (1st Summer)

Tristram smiles as he sees Aurnia blush, but his smile fades and he lowers his eyes as she asks him if everything's right. "Not yet, I suppose. I probably need some more time to come to grips with it." 'It' needs no further explanation for them. 'It' is the war, with all its horrors; 'it' was...

Age of Mortals - Knights of Solamnia (1st Summer)

Tristram welcomes Aurnia in his arms, lifting her up and twirling her around before putting her down with a laugh. "Well, little sister, it was short and uneventful, though I strained Blackwind a bit. I was afraid to be late, and in fact it looks like I am, since someone is already asking for...

[Unbounded World:The Aeterian Expedition] (Now With New And Improved Amulets!)

"Well said, captain. Teppic, let's all go to the armory.Talsia, how much time do you need to prepare your spell? Would you rather sleep here tonight, or should we leave at once?" Those bastards have gathered enough children for whatever they are trying to do. Screw the sword, we must find them...
