    D&D 5E (2014) Gods in the mltliverse/great wheel

Oh, I know; was just interested in how the official campaigns settings that incorporated a multiverse concept dealt with the divine since, as is obvious from the discussion, this raises all sorts of questions.

D&D 5E (2014) The free online crunch: I don't think it's going to be as much as we think it is.

The deep ocean paladin does +1d6 crustacean damage actually. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Race-Class Combinations

Do you want to penalize players for going against type? That seems like it would cut down some interesting role play activities. You could probably just deal with this in terms of NPC expectations and prejudices: half-orcs are dumb there is no way they can be competent wizards; dwarves are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Gods in the mltliverse/great wheel

Interesting. Any examples from 2e? Also...there are biologically identical humanoid races on multiple worlds (humans, orcs, dwarves, etc.) How is it that the same races inhabit all these different worlds? Were humans created independently multiple times? Or did all the races have a single...

    D&D 5E (2014) Gods in the mltliverse/great wheel

So we have a multiverse with all the campaign settings simply being different planets on the same material plane. And then there is the great wheel, which provides planes for every alignment. Where do the various gods of each world live? Would Heironeus of Grayhawk and Tyr of FR each have...

    D&D 5E (2014) eldritch knight multiclass

EK 11/wiz 9 is a good balance for end game. I'd rush to ek 5 for the extra attack and then maybe wiz 5 before alternating.

    Top 10 Classic D&D Movies

Just watched Hawk the Slayer...why is the dark lord broke? He seems to really need that 2,000 gold pieces. He has a pretty large army...couldn't he just take it?

I love Red Sonya and Conan the Destroyer in all their cheesy glory and I am sad they are not on this list.

D&D 5E (2014) Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

Low level wizards in 5e are basically scholars who can identify your loot, read ancient languages, and solve puzzles. They can occasionally cast sleep and some minor tricks. You'd hire and bring along someone like this when asked to explore an ancient ruin...mostly because of their command of...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Ranger

They are mechanically quite strong...you will contribute damage and utility to any party as a ranger. I find them a bit dull though....not all that interesting to play and no "woah!" abilities. I was similarly disappointed in the sorcerer. Still...all of the classes are mechanically strong and...

    D&D 5E (2014) [UPDATED] DMG - Villainous Classes Preview

Since D&D has Wee=Jas, the Raven Queen, and Kelemvor (possible others) they could have put a non-evil death domain in the PHB since this one is, as you noted, clearly anti-social and more appropriate for evil NPCs.

    D&D 5E (2014) What's a wizard to do?

Ritual caster requires 13 int or wisdom, so not everyone will be able to take it. And the opportunity cost is a feat that actually supports their class abilities directly or an ability score boost. It is there if one wants it but it is expensive as it should be.

    D&D 5E (2014) What's a wizard to do?

If I could learn a spell that bends the fabric of reality itself (level 9 spells like wish) with 18 hours of work for the price of a horse I would drop everything, hand over my money and get cracking. That is a steal when you consider the power you are about to gain.

D&D 5E (2014) The Bard: College of Lore or Valor?

You might consider a level of cleric for the knowledge domain...will get you shields and medium armor to help your defenses.

D&D 5E (2014) Evil parties that don't fall apart: ideas, suggestions, experiences?

It is a lot easier if your players understand that evil does not mean "homicidal lunatic." I imagine there are plenty of evil people walking around the world who have never killed anyone or burned down a church or whatever because a. there was nothing to be gained by doing it and b. they are not...

D&D 5E (2014) Your wishlist for fantasy adventure beyond medieval Europe

Age of exploration/reason (1500-1750 or so) with its clockwork precision, natural law, imperialism (and all the awful things that came with it), piracy, baroque architecture/art/music, etc.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is the Sorceror so limited in spell knowledge?

I think they over-compensated for metamagic by limiting the spells known so much. It wouldn't have been unbalancing/game breaking to give them another 5 spells known over 20 levels!

D&D 5E (2014) Shields and Somatic Components: Will you play it "as is?"

I think my bard might use maracas or a tamborine.
