    Have loads of cash...recommendations?

Ioun Stone: Doesn't take a slot and will stack with your other AC bonuses. Might ask if you can get an enhanced version. The nightstick is from Libris Mortis. It grants extra turn attempts if I recall. Another thought is heward's handy haversack. Its always a handy item for packing lots of...

Greasing a Black Pudding - Will this Work?

Well, per the RAW, the typical dungeon wall has a climb DC of 20. If the surface is slippery, the DC is +5, so a total of DC 25. Your ooze that can take 10 with a +16 climb bonus can still make this. No issues on the climb check. This leaves the save and the balance check(s) caused by the...

    Best Archer Build?

There's a feat in Heroes of Battle that lets you completely ignore the cover penalties caused by friendlies. The feat name is escaping me, but the archer in my game has it and its proved very handy on numerous occasions, allowing her to fire through the group's tank with impunity.

What do you do if you make a paladin and you roll, say, a 4.

You know... I'd probably vote for putting the 4 in DEX rather than INT as well. The dumb paladin is more of an overplayed stereotype than the clumsy one. From a rules mechanics standpoint, the biggest hit is going to be to AC. Odds are that you'll mostly be using melee weapons, so the hit roll...

    Have loads of cash...recommendations?

I'd definitely consider cranking up the AC some more if possible. There's a curve, which if you can get ahead of it, significantly lowers the damage you take (and thus extending your lifespan). AC is something which is most effective when you're at an extreme. The ioun stone which gives an AC...

Help with a cleric power build

One thing to keep in mind is that the player is inexperienced. The cleric is (IMHO) not a good class choice for an inexperienced player due to the fairly large spell list they have. But, since it sounds like this decision has already been made, I'd probably opt for keeping some of the choices...

too many feats to pick from

Well, since you're getting one every level... go grab ALL of the ones from Libris Mortis that have Corpsecrafter as a prerequisite. Then, once you gain a few more levels start cranking out the nasty undead minions. Always look 3-5 levels ahead when picking out your feats.

Screw the warrior... the blackguard is calling you. You know you want to do it.

Good Feats for a Radiant Servant of Pelor?

My personal favorite is Divine Metamagic + Reach Spell (Complete Divine). Allows you to burn turn attempts as a free action to turn touch spells into a short ranged ray. Makes healing everyone a LOT easier.

    I've never played a cleric, and now I need a 20th level one for a one-shot. Help.

You didn't mention the alignment bent of the party - A LN cleric of Wee Jas who channels negative energy can be a lot of fun. :D If you go this route, make sure you're well stocked on magic items that can crank out healing. Another fun cleric is the controller - take as your domains either fire...

    Whirlwind and reach weapons

I don't think its horribly overpowered myself. I'd fear the dervish more than a whirlwind attack with reach. Incidentally, if she adds power attack, cleave, and great cleave and has her arcane caster friend add an enlarge person, her build gets a bit scarier, particularly when fighting crowds...

    NEED HELP FAST! Sinking Ships

I'd use Stormwrack for the ship rules (HP, hardness, sections, sinking, etc.) and Heroes of Battle for the ballista rules.

    Best Seafaring Rules...

I'd have to concur with Stormwrack being the best sourcebook for a seafaring campaign. I've been running a chip-based campaign and I use that pretty heavily for most things. The only exception being the catapult and ballista the players have mounted on their ship - I go to Heroes of Battle for...

Simple but Effective Feats for a 1st-level Paladin

For less experienced players I generally suggest feats which usually provide more bonuses or extra uses rather than those which create exceptions to regular rules or which are often tough for new players to remember how they work or when, or they cause confusion when the player moves to his next...

    Best counterspelling wizard build

My personal suggestion is to go for Mystic Theurge (cleric3/wizard3/Mystic Theurge?) rather than straight wizard if you really want to be the master of counterspelling. You don't have quite as high levels, but you have a much greater breadth (and of course dispel magic from both classes to fill...

Help with an elf two weapon fighter build

One thought is to keep going as a fighter (or fighting-type classes), but to specialize in different sorts of tricks for combat. This would probably point to the Combat Expertise chain of feats. Improved Disarm in particular comes to mind as something that could be entertaining for him as an...

    Frenzied Bezerker BBEG TPK

Well, my first observation is that when players are used to facing a particular style of game, they typically hone their abilities to that style of threat. Having an encounter set up by someone other than the one who usually creates what they typically face can make for a very difficult game...

Not QUITE a Warmage- (de)Gimp my Gish!

Back again. The feat is called Ascetic Mage. It grants the abilities I mentioned, plus you can burn spells as a swift action to give you a bonus to hit and damage equal to the spell's level for one round. The big problem with the feat is that it requires you to be able to spontaneously cast...

Not QUITE a Warmage- (de)Gimp my Gish!

I'm at work right now, so no book, but I want to say that the benefit was that you get to stack both classes for figuring monk AC bonus, you get to add Cha bonus (instead of Wis) to AC for monk, and you can continue advancing as a monk even though multi-classed. (If someone else can confirm or...

need as much DR as possible

I think one of the more effective combos is dwarf (eventually taking dwarven defender levels) with a 20 con that sinks as many feats as possible into Roll With It. If your DM allows flaws, a 1st level dwarf can end up with 4/- this way and increase that by another 2 every 3 levels (plus whatever...
