    AD&D needs a lil' love. Favorite PCs/concepts/race-class combo's...

My favorite from a game earlier this year was definitely my half-orc cleric/assassin. He was fun.

    Best RPGA adventures?

    Reported.

Any Traveller RPG (Mongoose version) fans here?

I do loves me some Traveller. Last year I ran a short campaign using classic traveller - the characters were the employees / crew of a retired Darian scientist (a really really old scientist as it turns out), trucking about the Marches on his lab ship.

Are you part of the "Lost Generation" of RPG gamers?

No, I started in 1981 but my wife definitely falls into the 'lost generation' category. Interestingly, she feels no particular attachment to the 2e rules, even though that's the game she started with. Bit of a headscratcher that.

    3.5 Edition Excerpts: Adventuring Gear

What's this got to do with the next edition? Shouldn't this be over in Legacy or something?

Death by Infelicitas - Is it acceptable?

No, I wasn't making any kind of serious accusation of bias or whatever. (Sorry, humor seldom comes across well on the internet. I'll learn this one day.) It just seems you didn't expect anyone to agree with you.

Death by Infelicitas - Is it acceptable?

I note with some amusement that there isn't an option for simply accepting such a roll; perhaps a bit of preselection bias? :) In any case, I also like a certain degree of lethality to my games. I don't dislike save or die, for example.

Looking for tips on creating a Futuristic/post-apocolyptic setting

Weird, works for me. Here's the url: Goblinoid Games - Products - Mutant Future

Looking for tips on creating a Futuristic/post-apocolyptic setting

Nice. Sounds superficially similar to the setting I use in my Mutant Future game, the rules for which might fit your needs. (It's an OSR post-apocalyptic game based more or less on the B/X rules by way of Labyrinth Lord.)

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up.

    Wildshape

At least, restrict wildshape to a single creature when the ability is first gained, and increase the number of preferred forms by increment, possibly opening it to more forms than the few the character can already assume at high level - 15th or so maybe?

    Character Campaign Books

I thought the handle looked familiar but I'm on so many gaming sites that noting a recognizable handle but being unable to place it isn't all that unusual. :) FWIW, I believe paizo has put out or will soon put out a similar type product if that's of any use to you but I don't have a link handy.

    Character Campaign Books

First of all, welcome to EN World! To your question, a few different products such as you describe have been put out over the years. The most recent one in my experience was the Character codex put out by Goodman Games.

Which Edition(s) do you regularly play?

Atm, I'm not actually playing D&D (running a BRP supers game and playing Savage Worlds in the Day After Ragnarok setting) but in the last year I've played some 1e AD&D and spent most of the last year running my Swords & Wizardry homebrew. Plans to continue S&W and a later game using the Dark...

Does your game pass the Bechdel Test?

FWIW, I'm not sure that the Bechdel test per se is germane to adventure gaming, though (as with other things) it's a nice yardstick. However, I think a strict definition of what does or does not pass a series of arbitrary standards somewhat misses the point. At heart, the Bechdel test has...

Does your game pass the Bechdel Test?

With the exception of one on one games, I'm pretty sure all of my games since 1996 or so qualify. Admittedly, throughout almost all of that time at least 50% (and often up to 75%) of the players in games I run have been women. I think the only games I've been involved in during that time that...

How often do sex and romance come up in your games?

Pretty regularly - the longer a game runs around here, the more likely one or more characters will hook up with someone (PC or NPC).

are you more interested in 5e or numenera?

What? Aside from Monte Cook, what do these two things have to do with each other? I mean, why not ask Traveller v. Runequest, as these also have very little to do with each other (aside from being pretty good games). At the moment, there aren't any games that are particularly calling out...

    A Warrior, a Weaponmaster and a Swordsage walk into a tavern ...

I'm only ever going to play the warrior but the other two have the right to exist I guess.

Monte Cook's new RPG: Numenera [UPDATED]

Indeed. Unless something is billed as specifically hard SF, I don't especially want or need scientific rigor from my role playing settings.
