    Which Savage Worlds?

Be careful, Savage Worlds can ruin you for other games. :)

What do the want from a new game book?

Here are the buzz words that most likely get me to buy a new game setting book for my preferred system these days, gleaned over the last few years of over-buying and refining my purchasing: cover, art, adventure, story, maps, counters, rules (minimal), index & dwarves (for the win).

That site is cool. Thanks for sharing.

    DCC RPG

The DM for our game did similar, but I think it loses something when the players don't roll their characters.

Would you ever watch other people play RPGs, as entertainment?

Yes, Chris Perkins has many celebrity games posted on youtube.

The Child of Savage Worlds and D20

I think it models increases in levels, too. The higher level the character is, the greater the die rolled in addition to the d20. It makes the results more random, though.

    DCC RPG

We get together at 6:30. We get to the encounter area around 10, which is about the time I prefer to leave. We first roll dice at about 10:30. We finish near midnight. My 20 minutes of fun was packed into more than 4 hours and consisted of a few minutes of interacting, information gathering...

    Pathfinder 1E Non-D&D /Pathfinder RPGs

I didn't mention the good Judge Dredd d20 or the brilliant Omega World d20 because they are D&D (d20) derivatives, but they are quite fun. Same with Star Wars d20 and the new Gamma World.

Request for Gamma World Adventure Help

We played Trouble if Freesboro as the the 1st level introduction adventure. It was a free adventure, but it can be expensive to buy now.

    DCC RPG

My group has been playing it for several months, but I just rejoined recently. DCC RPG is a good game with many great innovations, but it is still just as susceptible as almost any edition of D&D to the problem of packing 20 minutes of fun into 4 hours. Sometimes I think we're doing it wrong.

How do I thin my collection? How do YOU thin your collection?

Good advice. Keep to the core. Out with the old when in with the new.

    Pathfinder 1E Non-D&D /Pathfinder RPGs

Savage Worlds. Supra. And it's free to try: http://www.peginc.com/freebies/SWcore/TD06.pdf I also think the newest version of Gamma World is quite good and very transferable to players of recent versions of D&D.

Noble Knight Games is my current mail & trade shop: http://www.nobleknight.com/ They're great. I've tried my FLGSs, used book stores & eBay, too. It's just easier to ship it for credit and get other new or used stuff I can read, play & enjoy. For me, the fun is in getting & using game books...

Fantasy Campaign Setting: What do you want/not want?

Any game for me has to almost a perfect storm of 3 crucial elements: story, rules & minis. I need as much of it to be "drag & drop" or "plug & play" as possible. I'll touch on each element in more detail. The story has to be compelling. I want to present something epic. It can start...

Lots of short games or one long game?

I prefer to change games and genres frequently--about every 3-6 months. I think I just get bored and want to move on to or return to something that is not immediately familiar. Even if I am really enjoying a game, I know that I need to let it lie fallow for a while and then return to it. I...

Tell us about your favourite space RPG and why?

Star Trek is fun, too. I ran a short-lived hybrid crossing Savage Worlds and Star Trek Heroclix Tactics. I set it in a post Deep Space 9 era, and I think the players approached it from The Original Series perspective. Each player was a captain with a ship, which I intended to free them from...

Help! - Need a replacement for D&D (criteria below)

Our group has been enjoying Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC) of late. I missed much of the play, but I read most of the book (possible more than the DM); and it is a solid system. I think it makes the game fun to play and easy to run (DM) which is a rare combination. It also hits all the things...
