New d20 CoC feat: Doctor of Sciences

Considering the amount of crap a graduate student have to endure to get his degree, I am pretty much favorable to consider those with a Ph.D. to be at least third level characters.

New d20 CoC feat: Doctor of Sciences

You might consider that he is a brillant Ph.D. candidate who got a position in a small college a year before finishing his dissertation. That would be an interesting subplot to the character.

    Review of Castles & Crusades

Did I got right? There are no bestiary of any sort in the C&C PHB? I thought they were trying to produce a book comparable to the D&D Rules Cyclopedia, which not only included a bestiary but also mass combat and domain rules, as well a short introduction to the Mystara setting.

Redo 2: Select the ONE non d20 game you would play?

Call of Cthulhu or a homebrew modern campaign based in its BRP implementation. It is my favorite game as it combines a great setting and a simple yet functional rules set.

If you could choose ONE non-d20 game to play, which one would it be?

Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu, by far my favorite roleplaying game.

What do you think is the best campaign setting?

I like settings that can be played with as little additions to the core rules as possible, which I think are already bloated with rules. Also, I prefer them to be not much detailed as I don't have much time to study a setting and I prefer to improvise freely. Finally, I like them to show some...

How Many of You Ignore New Cruch?

For someone who thinks that the core books are already bloated with too many rules, I seldom care for many more crunch in any setting book. In fact, I would rather prefer one with very few adjustments and the least number of new feats.

What are the best sources for City Based games?

Lankhamar, for 1st edition AD&D is the best city supplement I've read. It is a licensed product based in Fritz Leiber stories. There is a lot to take from that book, including the culture, taxes, law, as well as a magnificent map of the whole city and smaller detailed portions you could add...

Grandpa, what were the outer planes like?

Fantastic! Really a nice piece of work.

What would you like to see WotC publish next?

    1) A Greyhawk Campaign full colour hardcover book; 2) A City Campaign book (featuring the City of Greyhawk as an example); 3) A new 3.5 edition of Oriental Adventures san Rogukan setting; 4) A sort of Arabian Adventures book; and a 5) Simplified yet complete D&D Lite book to accommodate those...

    What D&D character are you?

It appears that I'm a Chaotic Good Half-elf Ranger. Well, ranger is my favorite class and I often play chaotic good characters, but never a half-elf. I near always play humans.

    Bilogical Tree of D&D creatures

Not a problem as modern biological trees take in account the possibility of hybridization, which is a very common process in plants. As many others said, it makes no sense to work in some sort of evolutionary classification as, in most cases, magic, instead of evolution, was the primary agent...

[Mac] What's your favorite Mac web browser?

I use Safari nearly all the time, although I've noticed that it doesn't work in some chat sites. Surprisingly, neither does IE or Firefox, although Mozilla appears to handle them nicely.

    Troy- Achilles a epic hero?

Superman definitely qualifies, although I'm not so sure about Batman :D. Seriously, Epic levels, in D&D sense, are superheroic stuff, much above anything from fantasy literature. There are some myths that might qualify, but they are, for most part, not human beings but actually demigods or...

Anyone played or read Kult or Victoriana?

I read Victoriana and I liked the rules but not the setting. It is very well written, but it feels like Shadowrun in the XIX Century, which was definitely not what I was looking for. I was looking for a much closer parallel history setting and Victoriana includes elves, orcs, and so on. Still...

WotC Product Line beyond April 2005

I think that WotC is waiting to see with the Star Wars license will get a sales boost with Episode III to then decide on what to do. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they are not releasing anything to avoid incompatibility with an unannounced new version of the Core Book to be released with...

    GRIMM: Full Treatment ... non-d20?

I agree with Nick. Not only they did advertised it as an OGL game but also they made very clear that it is not a d20 game. Also, their latest release, Firebor included a new system and I read here at ENWorld that FFG management people were not pleased with the d20/OGL market and that they were...

Third Edition Culture- Is is sustainable?

When I say "might work beyond its work specifications", I mean giving consistent results. Obviously, you can do something like this with a less robust technique, but the results will not be consistent.
