Because they make me feel cool

having a problem with aligment... Can anyone help??

I use a "Sense Evil" power in place of the old Detetct Evil. Sense Evil (Su): Starting at first level Templar Knights gain the ability to sense the presence of evil. When ever an undead, abomination, or outsider comes within 100 feet of the Templar Knight she may make an immediate Sense...

    Improved Weapon Finesse?

Yes, though it does not give you acess to feats like power att. I've seen it by a few names (Improved, Greater) in a few 3rd party publications but I cant recall seeing it in any WotC products.

News: Ravenloft back to WotC - and a FoS message

Its a shame that RL is probably going to fade out now.... I always liked the setting (and would have bought more of the books if I actualy had money). RL was the first AD&D setting book I ever bought, and I mined it heavily over the years for my homebrew games. It also lead me to my first...

    Lodoss War - any good?

Its no LotR, but its a decient series. The jump from the OVA to the TV series can be a little odd unless you know the histrory of the series though. The OVA is very much like some guys making a cartoon based on their D&D game, which isnt realy a bad thing. The TV series breaks from that...

How does a lack of steel effect a campaign setting?

I knew i was forgetting one of the armors. Rome was around for a LONG time, covering several different eras, it extended all the way from ancient times into "Dark" Ages. So using it as an example of any particular material age is not a good idea.

How does a lack of steel effect a campaign setting?

damned fine sailing ships were made before iron/steel was invented, wooden pegs and bronze nails can do the trick quite well. You are limited from building things "big" with bronze and iron. wagons, ships, are smaller then things made with steel. Its also not possible to make large metal...

    Character maintenance

I keep a sheet of notebook paper with my character sheet for tracking things like HP and amuntion, my character sheet stays under the plastic cover of my notebook so it wont get damaged in a random spill.

How does a lack of steel effect a campaign setting?

it can be... but pure iron is very hard to produce. Its the carbon mixed in that determines the strenght of the blade, and though the early smiths didnt deliberatly add carbon to the mix some was present.

How does a lack of steel effect a campaign setting?

Is the game actualy set in an early Iron Age setting? if so then... You'd want to go down the list of weapons and determine what would be made from each metal, and which would'nt exist at all: Iron and Bronze Weapons: Maces, Daggers, Shortswords, hatchets, battle axes, shortspears/longspears...

    Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay n00bie

warpstone.. what it is exactly has never been fully stated... warpstone is like a magical uranium, using it makes your spells more powerful but will drive you insane then turn you into a hidieous monster (or turn you into hidieous monster then drive you insane... or drive you insane while it...

    Failing motivation to adventure

Yea, I've seen it on occasion. As a DM I'm not about to stop the adventure if one player cannot think of a reason his character would go on the adventure.

How do the Wealth Guidelines affect your style of play?

I've never bothered with the wealth guidelines IMC all new characters get a MW weapon of their choice, armor and shields as needed (usualy light or medium armor), and a backpack with rope food and other misc items. they also start out with 1d6 silvers per lvl in pocket change.

    Review of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

True, but you will note that there are a large number of differences between those creatures... I was refering to the Goblin variant 1-15, Orc Variant 1-8 type of monsters.

    Review of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Although I did not find his review of the main book to be negative hes "bias" towards the d20 system is rather obvious. To say that WHFRP2 is derivative of 3.x is not an accurate statement, rather they are products of parallel evolution. In the end what dice based RPG doesnt come down to...

    Anyone know about Serial Ports?

Thanks... I got about 25' worth of cable today from CompUSA (a computer store). I did get an odd look when I asked one of the salesman where the serial cable was kept, but after I described it he said that it was probably near the USB cable (which it was). I'll have to wait until the week to...

    Anyone know about Serial Ports?

I'm not quite sure where to ask this so I'll throw it here... I've been working on a project involving communication between a PC and an OOPic Microcontroller. The thing is it looks like the OOPic is going to have to be about 10 meters away from the PC. My question is... can the serial port...

    [Aug] What Are You Reading?

I just started on Double Eagle by Dan Abanett, its a new WH40K novel set during the Sabat Worlds crusade (the same setting as Gaunts Ghosts). I havent gotten very far as of yet... but it looks to a top notch bit. With all the Harry Potter hype I keep feeling like I should go to the library and...

    Warcraft: The RPG

Its a fairly decient book. I've got the PDF. they removed level adjustments and gave all the races that had it racial levels (an interesting idea). I like the 3-in-1 caster classes as well as the new domain system (where you get lesser and greater domain powers). other then that it is a...
