    Favored Class alternative

thats why I love the crossclass system in Conan d20. there you get a bonus feat every 4 levels you have in your favored class instead of a penalty.

Two extra skill points per level (and character backgrounds)

IMC all classes get 2 additional skill points per level (4 at first). So far it hasnt taken away from rogues, or made humans any less of a good choice. My games tend to be fairly skill intensive (investigation, social interation, sneakyness) and I found that players who had classes like the...

    Bran Mak Morn anthology

I've been slowly reading through this book (thanks mostly to WoW). Though shorter then the other collections the emotions in the Morn stories seem to run much deeper then the traditional pulp stories (Conan and Kane).

Painting and Using Miniatures or Not?

I've always used minis in my games, and always painted metal ones. I've got a fairly large collection of reaper and GW minis in various stages of being painted. I dont care for the pre-painted plastics, they look crude. Though I'm no master painter I do have some skill at it.

    Why Worship Gods?

it happens all the time in real life, no reason why those who live in a fantasy world would be any different. Infact it might be easier for those in a fantasy world to swich faiths. If a cleric of god A slaughters a cleric of god B, then says to the general population "my god is stronger...

    Why Worship Gods?

IMC there are several reasons why one would worship a god 1) because thats what everyone else does. If your parents worship a god, and all your neighbors worship a god then you probably worship that god. If you think about it thats why most people worship a god, and its not realy worship...

    When to award XP?

Almost always at the end of a session, so that any leveling can be done out of game. Sometimes I'll do XP before a game, but thats usualy because I was to tired or had somewhere to go after the last game.

    New Spell: Cascading Damage

Its my personal prefrence to limit the amount of dice rolling that goes on, it tends to slow down combat. I am on the fence over allowing the spell to save to negate or save to 1/2. as it stands now an 8th lvl caster deals 20 points of damage with this spell at 9th it has dealt 38, at 10th it...

    New Spell: Cascading Damage

I've been kicking around the idea for a spell that does damage over time, increasing each round its active. i'm not quite sure of how to handle it though.... or what to call it. I want it to be a necromancy spell. [Cascading Damage Spell] Level: 3-4 Components: V, S Casting Time: One Round...

What is the median level of the population of your gameworld?

I voted for 3rd... a punk kid just starting out at the forge/brewery would be level 1 after a year there he'd move on to lvl 2 with some training he'd reach 3 towards the end of his life, assuming it was a relativly long one the guy might reach 4 Thats if the guy doest put himself out any...

    ...but what about the books?

The list of books I liked enough to read multiple times is a very long one.... probably at least a third of my collection. Some highlights: 1) Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIHM: I read this book constantly in the fith grade, and by constantly I mean that once I reached the end I'd flip the...
