    exp for making magicals.....?

Its always been my opinion that just because a character is sitting in a lab doesnt mean that they are not gaining XP. Lets take our Alchemist friend here. While he may not be out killing the Goblin King he is working to perfect his art, and developing new formulas. He is also dealing with...

What two domains would your cleric pick?

well though i do enjoy creating elemental priests from an RP pov if someone were to say "hey im running a campaing and i want you to be a cleric, pick any two domains" I'd have to say War and Magic. War because with the free feats (take MWP [Great Sword]) you are easily as powerful as a...

How much time do your players spend making magic?

virtualy zero time is spent in the creation of magic items. thats due to several factors 1) the fact that the party is constantly broke 2) as a general rule my players dont like to play magic users 3) low magic campaign world makes magic item creation rather difficult.

    Out with the Old...

Since I started DMing when 3e came out that has happened maybe three times in my campaigns. As long as the player told me well ahead of time that they wanted to switch characters I'd allow it. Since a 6 month period is the lenght of my longest story arch I doubt I'd have much trouble with a...

Are Your Games Rated G, PG, R, X, etc.?

PG-13 to R for my games (though ocasionaly there might be a PG session). Violence is often described in graphic (though not gory detail), sex is aluded to (like most others here I use the "branch tapping against the window" when it comes to sex), prostitution and slavery exist but are rarely...

    Military Sci-Fi books and authors.

The Eisenhorn trilogy is an exelent series, though its not quite military SF. All you need to know about the 40K universe is explained in a little blurb at the begining of each of their books. Ravenor is the followup to the Eisenhorn trilogy, detaling the adventure of Eisenhorns greatest...

    Call of Cthulhu movie trailer

I think it looks great, a real HPL movie instead of the garbage usualy put out under his name.

    Opinions on The Shield

I love The Shield, its one of the only shows i've been looking forward to. Though I used to like L&O its gotten a bit to repetative for my tastes (i've never been able to get into its offshoots, not even SVU which looked to be a "bad boy" version of L&O Since I dont have HBO i cant realy say...

    Magic items / Group level

My PC's are definatly underequiped for their level: 1 ancesteral sword thats currently a +2 1 +1 rapier with the shocking property 1 +1 quarterstaff that deals an additional +1 point of cold damage 3 doese of daemon venom poison (causes the target to be affected by a bane spell) thats it for a...

    Military Sci-Fi books and authors.

Military SF has always been among my favoret sub sections of Sci Fi. But good Military Sci-Fi can be very hard to come buy. David Drake is the grand master, his Hammers Slammers series is one of the all time best out there. S.M. Sterlings alternative history Draka series is exelent as well...

    It's Official!

While i dont have a specific problem with the new races none of them could fit IMC in large enough numbers to become a player race.

How many spells have you banned from your game?

Banned for rules reasons: Summon Creature spells (far to much difficulty to manage), Detect Alignment (alignment system not used). Banned for setting reasons: Raise Dead, Resurection, True Resurection (tearing someones soul from its rightful place in the aftterlife is necromancy), Gate...

Do you make your own adventures?

I've never actualy used a prepublished adventure, though i have used one as kind of an adventure seed (keeping some of the basics but mostly rewriting the adventure). I've just never seen any that would fit into my campaigns without more work then i was willing to give.

What takes you the longest in adventure preperation?

plot generation usualy takes the longest for me... it takes me a month or two to generate an adventure. From that outline i stat out the NPC's which doesnt take me very long (I have several pages filled with stated out minions (like "Orc Raider" or "Thug") that I reuse over and over again...

how do you make your overland maps?

Plain printer paper for large scale maps, and engineering paper for the local stuff or areas where i know combat will take place. Since most adventure areas are generated randomly when needed (ok this battle is going to take place in a forest... lets add a stream) most of my maps are area maps...

    D&D: How Many Core Books

I dint realy see a need to consoldate the books into a single volume... why should a player have to pay extra for something they will never need (like the dungeon creation guide in the DMG or the monsters in the MM). I honestly dont see how every player needs all three. You dont need to own a...

Limiting the scope of your campaign

Like most of the other posters I have a campaing book (around 80 pages worth of background material, modifed core classes, new classes, house rules, feats, and spells). I like to think of campaing books and filters, that is I take things that I've liked from other books I've read and put them...

I filiped through it... and while it isnt a bad book I saw nothing that could be used IMC.

    Conan & lone wolf

Well I dont run an campaign set in the Hyborian world the Conan book has virtualy replaced the PHB for my campaign.

    Conan & lone wolf

Conan is compatable with D&D. Now because there are so many different d20 games out there it is nearly impossible for every store to know about all of them (noone around where i live has ever heard of castles & crusades or grim tales).
