Check out the Season 4 Sneak Previews!

Agree, although it really needs to be 0 gp / 10 days max to be worth having; otherwise characters will still end up stuck. Either play nice and make it easy, or play hardball and don't have it at all, but a milquetoast middleground is not worth having, IMO.

DM rewards for running Adventurer's League - what are your thoughts?

Wow, DMs guild is neat but it complicates the ownership of this a lot if the adventures are published by individual authors and not the Adventurer's League centrally. It sounds like a lot of cat-herding, and I don't envy the admins having to do it. Personally, I feel like their brainpower is...

    D&D 5E (2014) No Feats Allowed?

This, I think, is the biggest problem with banning feats; players get "humans-in-funny-hats" syndrome with races because races are mechanically more interesting. This could be balanced, perhaps, by RP consequences (e.g. institutionalized racism against non-humans), but it's tough. To be honest...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook

All I said was that I was surprised to find my stuff here and I was attacked for it. I don't know how this community works, and I don't know you from Adam. I didn't even know what a Morrus was, let alone that they are petitionable. I'm sure you remember what moderation amounted to on the WotC...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook (original)

On my first reading I had concluded that you couldn't use the bladesong in wild shape, although in re-reading I don't see anything that explicitly forbids it. That said, I think a DM would be within his rights to declare a sword dance something your beast form is not capable of doing; I probably...

Build-wise, what's rare in the AL?

This thread is pretty much the opposite of asking for optimization advice. Thanks for your contribution though. huh... now that you mention it, I've only seen one dragonborn at the very launch of 5e, and haven't seen another since. One of my encounters characters was a dragonborn, Ziggrathed...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook

Fear not, it's back. I've also added in the SCAG options. There's nothing wrong with the land druid, they're just not as interesting, because all they do is cast spells. There's nothing wrong with spells, but spells tend to be so mechanically distinct that it's hard to write a cohesive guide...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook (original)

    4. Races Although most races would line up directly around ability scores, this isn’t the case for us. The primary driver of your race should be story, and whether the race provides useful features in your beast form. Common Races Dwarf (Hill): Stats you like and bonus HP. Dwarf (Mountain)...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook (original)

This guide is available on Google Docs. This guide was originally posted on the Wizards of the Coast community, and was removed along with the rest of the content there. As a number of members here feel like its information is valuable, I will keep this post here. I'm new to the community and...

Build-wise, what's rare in the AL?

I don't get out to play AL as much as I'd like, but this weekend's our big local convention, so I'm all jazzed about D&D again. And I'm curious. Often at AL tables you see a lot of repeating things: bards, fighters, warlock 2/* multiclass. Everybody's a Crossbow Expert. I like to be a unique...

    D&D 5E (2014) Digital Gaming Tables

OMG you guys have really inspired me. These maps are incredibly well-done. What's the software you use to generate them? I saw NWN--is that literally the old gold box from 15 years ago that I have sitting in my office?

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook

Huh. Thanks. Well, I was considering updating the original guide for SCAG anyway, so I'll repost it.

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Thy Fearful Symmetry: A Circle of the Moon Handbook

Click on the Google Doc. Notice the consistent spacing and careful use of white space that makes it pleasant to read. Then come back to enworld and see how everything is smooshed together. The WotC forums had the same problems, and I was meticulous about fixing them. That is not the definition...

    D&D 5E (2014) [5e] What to play in a 2-people group? Other character is a paladin.

Story-wise, the obvious answer is rogue. It's that trope of Noble Male, Roguish Male, but could also be Cop and Scientist or Big Guy, Little Guy or Guys Smash, Girls Shoot. But I think ranger might be best: you're both tough, have healing spells and he covers str/cha/melee while you cover...

    D&D 5E (2014) The whip needs love.(updated last time)

Remember that 5th edition weapons are broadly defined. A whip could as much be a leather bullwhip as a length of chain, an Urumi or Jiujiebian. As far as the feat goes, I think better than disarm on attack would be some more generic utility: As a bonus action you can crack you whip, making a...
