Wurm, the prehistoric Roleplaying Game - Now in English!

I'm really interested, but I'll wait until the reviews are out and the paper copies are available for purchase from anyone. I don't really do Kickstarters anymore after getting some really mediocre games.

    Captain America: Civil War

I hated Civil War in the comics, but this might be better. I haven't liked Iron Man and the people who followed him since Civil War, and dropped a lot of titles from my pull list as a result. It was sort of the beginning of the end for me when it came to reading Marvel comics (which I had been...

D&D Goes to Work Part II: Professional Game Masters

I wouldn't pay for someone to GM, nor would I charge for doing it.

    What's your Kickstarter success rate?

The ones I backed all delivered, technically, but I was not at all happy with the results. I finally decided that it just wasn't worth it, so I don't back Kickstarters anymore. These days I buy games after the reviews are out and/or I can look at someone else's copy.

RUNEQUEST: Classic Game Is Being Revived On Kickstarter

Given the recent history of Chaosium taking forever to fulfill Kickstarters, I'll wait and buy it when (and if) it's actually completed and printed. I know the company is under new management, but I'm adopting a wait and see attitude.

    Pathfinder Is Coming To REALMWORKS

Yep! I gave up on them earlier this year. It's obvious that they aren't going to really complete the things they promised in any reasonable amount of time. As for the content market, I'll believe it when I see it. Their past record for getting things out on time (or at all) is really bad.

Can I get a critique of my game?

    Sorry, I meant Google Drive.

    White Wolf Bought By Paradox

White Wolf lost me when they switched to the nWod, and I really haven't cared for Onyx Path's handling of WoD stuff since then, so maybe third time's a charm. I'm not holding out a lot of hope, but in the end it doesn't really matter. I have all my oWoD materials and I'm not planning on...

    White Wolf Bought By Paradox

I don't really care about MMOs, and any regular videogames based on the property would have to be REALLY good to get my interest. I love oWoD and hate most of nWoD, with the exception of the Prometheus line. I don't care about metaplots and stuff like that, either. When it comes to the...

    Creating non-stereotypical game worlds

I always consider them to be stereotypical, no matter how much they are modified.

    Smiteworks: I agree.

Worlds of Design: Kickstarter and the Evolution of Game Crowdfunding

I don't back Kickstarter projects anymore. Though nobody has ever run off with my money, the resulting products that I have been received have not been worth the price (to me). That wouldn't have happened if I had been able to read detailed reviews about the products ahead of time, which I...

    Creating non-stereotypical game worlds

To me, having a world with the "Tolkien races" (dwarfs, elves, etc.) still makes it stereotypical, even if some of their details are changed a bit. I have never had a problem interesting players in games that don't focus on European-styled character races.

Can I get a critique of my game?

How about just putting it on Google Docs?

How to Deal With Difficult Players? 5e

When I DM, I set very definite rules for player conduct that everyone has to agree to before I allow them in the game. That makes it easier to call them on bad behavior later. If someone is making the game unpleasant for others, (s)he gets the boot (after a warning and a chance to change).

RPG Sales From a Game Store's Perspective

I find that interesting, as well, particularly since there are some very good third party Pathfinder products out there. Most Pathfinder GMs that I have encountered seem to be a bit hostile towards third party products. I think some of that has to do with intense focus on "balance" among...

    Traveller. What do you think?

Earth 2 wasn't hard science fiction. Telepathy, psychic powers, two humanoid alien species (one of whom is necessary for the planet to survive), magic saliva that cures all diseases across species, etc. do not work with "hard" science fiction. You need to look up the definition of that term.

    Traveller. What do you think?

There haven't been any hard sci-fi shows on TV. "Hard" sci-fi puts an emphasis on being as realistic with technology and science as possible. The vast majority of sci-fi TV shows fall more under the banner of "space opera." Having said that, a lot of sci-fi rpgs either focus on "space opera"...

RPG Evolution: Will LEGO Ever Replace Miniatures?

I always do that. Unfortunately, people in this area seem to have figured out that they can make more money selling their Legos online. I used to see them all the time, years ago, but I haven't had any luck in the last couple of years.

Pathfinder Online Layoffs; Ryan Dancey Leaves Company

I have been buying (and programming) software since the days of the Apple II. I'm quit familiar with the problems associated with development and delivery on promises. When you buy software after it has been created, distributed, and reviewed by others, though, you're at much less of a...
