I find the shown changes fine and in fact like them alot. but if ya see it as that big a deal dont play it. Simple enough that's why I don't play 4e. Different strokes and all that

eh to me a 2nd level spell should not be a battle ender and yeah blinding most thingsfor the whole fight pretty much does that.

Well you see you could always play one in 3.5 if you messed with fluff9 or any other edition I would guess. Take the wizard change fluff, pick non damaging spells...or take a cleric or a druid and pick non damaging spells. Or simply do like you have and change the fluff of the spells and like...

they may not change much as they were low CR canon fodder and not much else anyhow.

Well sometimes that leads to the issue. If you feel boxed in or "punished" for doing anything other then attacking in some groups that is a problem. Not all groups but ,there ya go

Thanks for the side by sides, looks like I can still use my 3.0 and 3.5 stuff as is, or convert em over very easy. I do like many of the changes looks like they are moving things more inline with the listed CR which was always a bit wonky
