Question About Godlike Stature from Eternal Defender Epic Desitiny

You can be cool with 4d10 at wills and godawful reach. I'd probably not be, were I DMing an Epic game. Jay

Question About Godlike Stature from Eternal Defender Epic Desitiny

. . .and if you could already use Large weapons, this ED would grant you Huge weapons, which waves at stupid as it bolts straight to ridiculous. Jay

    Stun is Fun

You know what else sucks? Being stabilized at the beginning of the fight. You can't even make death saves. It is worse than being stunned because you have no light at the end of your tunnel, and worse than death because you *know* you are gonna make it, so you can't start in on making another...

    Make me a Skill Challenge?

Do you want them to get over this hump and leave it behind? From what I remember of the Drizzt novels (15 or so years ago?) it wasn't just a one and done with the racism. It was kind of a theme. Wouldn't you rather mine these interactions for plot and tension? If you do insist on a Skill...

Best 11th level and under rituals?

I like fastidiousness, and my Wizard took it. Of course, Prestidigitation does a similar thing (minus the warding against grime) but I cast it anyways. It fit his character. Jay

Aside from Expertise, what are the most commonly acknowledged feat-tax feats?

The commonly agreed on feat taxes would be Expertise, Paragon Defenses, and Robust Defenses. I think many would consider the multiclass Power Swap feats to be feat taxes, especially if you are Paragon multiclassing. I think it would be best to try the game RAW before you fiddle with it too...

At what point do players know they're fighting Minions?

What about: Carl Lenny Darryl Darrel Phoenix Or even Sue Fran Beuler What's in a name? Someone in the general thread posted the entire sonnet. . .I'll refrain from doing so. Jay

    Assassin Mechanics Questions

That's kinda where I was going, but clumsily. Assassins get the feat available because some assassins might want to be the sneak and stab kind. And RAW, a creature is aware of powers used on them, even if it doesn't make sense. Some, like curse and mark do. Quarry doesn't, really. The way...

    Why all the ritual hate?

That is certainly nice to know. When I was playing as a wizard a few months back, I had to make my own power cards for rituals. I laid them out on the table like the rest of my cards. I can certainly see this getting them used a lot more often. Jay

What's the best guide to good hybrid choices?

How are you wielding a bastard sword 2 handed and still throwing a weapon? I doubt that, by raw, you can switch hands in the middle of a power. And yes, building a charge-optimizing beast is nice if you can cherry pick every item you want for it. Most players can't do that. Jay

    Make me a Skill Challenge?

My gut tells me you should just straight roleplay this out. No rules, no die, do predetermined outcomes. Jay

    action point in pvp?

Oh, sure. I guess I just don't see it as a foregone conclusion. I'd say defenders are at a disadvantage because a major class feature is useless, but at an advantage because they usually have a lot of toughness. The weakest opponents could be Controllers. . .but some of those guys are pretty...

    Assassin Mechanics Questions

Do those that think shrouding shouldn't break cover also allow their rangers to Quarry while hidden? What about allowing Warlocks to Curse, or Paladins to mark? To me, the problem is that Assassin (class) != Assassin (job title). Did anyone legitimately think that the Warden moonlighted as...

    action point in pvp?

Really, can't imagine? There are Rogue powers that give CA, so depending on the level, you could get your bonus damage pretty often. Plus, sly flourish has a lot of static damage, and the Rogue's legendary accuracy. Sure, against a Ranger he is toast, but against a . . .Fighter? Jay

    small barbarians

Feats I like for this concept: Raging Bloodcut - Replace 1[w] of a rage power with ongoing 5 damage. Smaller damage die mean this is a better deal for you than for the other barbarian (unless you drop the whirling build). Swift Slayer - For halflings with a Dex bonus (which you should for sure...

    small barbarians

Scimitar is the best weapon for a small character (IMO, of course). It is not versatile, so you can use it in one hand, and it is 1d8, which is about as good as you are gonna get. My dual wielding Assassin uses a Scimitar and Short Sword (for now. . .). Small characters are often...

Do Two-Handed Weapons Do +1 Damage?

Also, critical hits. An Avenger would rather have the Greatsword since 10 is more than 9, 20 is more than 17, 40 is more than 33, etc. Jay

    What Classes are Missing?

All due respect, but right off the bat you are pretty dismissive of other people's ideas. You discount out of hand a whole bunch of classes, simply because you can't see how their mechanics would work. Well, I think we will see plenty before 4e runs it's course, and much of it will probably...
