Same here. I wish I could have a lifetime job as a creator but I decided to go for the safe financial route. Choosing a career is also planning for the retirement.

I think those are also real jobs, but it's more a vocation than a job imo. As a school teacher or a nurse. I said that I choose IT because I choose the "easy way of life", as I'll probably never fear to have no jobs at all (it depends on automation in fact) and/or I'll never fear not being able...

And that's why I'm an IT professional instead.

No I haven't bought Cyb Red yet. I was waiting for the full sourcebook since it's the fluff that I want, not really DMing it.

It's been decades but if I remember correctly, there was 2 or 3 skills for combat, 1 for driving, 1 for nethacking but all the rest were pretty much useless. Jobs like Rockerboy were useless as well.

Too many useless skills

I haven't because I don't plan to play the game; only the fluff interested me. But I DM'ed CP2020 for 2-3 years ~25 years ago, it was great as a setting but flawed as a game system in my opinion.

As much as I liked Cyberpunk 2020, I feel concerned about Cyberpunk Red. I hope I'm wrong.
