WotC Wizards of the Coast Announces Sci-Fi Video Game with ex-BioWare Developers

Maybe they just have too much money so they can try 3 different games at the same time and hope at least one of them will be successful? (My bet is on Larian)

D&D General New D&D Boardgame Coming

Is it me or the colors are, well, kinda weird? It seems there's several art directors in DnD and they don't speak the same language.

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

I'm reading all comments and I'm wondering when Matt Mercer will do his home spinoff TTRPG. I just know Critical Role is a thing but never watch it. I guess a lot of folks will try to just redo the videos for the fun of it. I don't like the Penny Arcade / Critical Role road that D&D is going...

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

I'm not in Critical Role stuff so it's a pass for me. The setting sounds The Witcher a bit, though I guess it won't be as gritty.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC Delays New D&D Book Announcement

The delay could be anything, moreover 2 days just before. What Parmandur said make a bit of sense but I feel it's a more trivial reason that we'll never know.

    Is it nostalgia?

I guess there's a real word for that. When I look at my books, I see potential and it makes me happy.

    Is it nostalgia?

Yeah, the urge of getting something, that's a thing. Sometimes, I buy a book only to keep my inner self quiet. I wish I could know more about this to twist my mind around it. As resisting, I haven't purchased Eberron neither Avernus, curiously, I'm now proud of that.

    Is it nostalgia?

It might be this. When I was a kid, I didn't had the money to purchase all those books (and there was way less choice 30 years ago). Now, it seems I like collecting them somehow.

    Is it nostalgia?

It depends. If it's for my daughter, I'm happy. For me, it's more like buyer remorse. At the exact moment I buy it? It needs to be done, so I can pass to something else, like I have to pay faster than I can. It tells you something?

    Is it nostalgia?

Yeah but I don't read them, that an issue from my point of view because I purchased others. Ah, I think you pinpoint it. I can loose (lost?) hours on Wikipedia sometimes, metalinks are killing my freetime. At least, I don't forgot the rest but sometimes I feel bad that "lost" hours getting more...

    Is it nostalgia?

The sad part on my side is the biggest one of the province is at a 5 minutes drive from home.. Now, I'm trying to wait a week to know if I really want it or it's just a fad. Same, I'm someone that don't buy a lot of stuff but for some reason, RPG books are an emotional impulse buy somehow. I...

    Is it nostalgia?

When I have freetime, I take time to find and purchase a new book, I don't read those I've already bought.

    Is it nostalgia?

Yeah, you are right, I got ASOFAI, LOTR, Dark Souls books as well. But why I don't read them then..?

    Is it nostalgia?

Yeah, I'm happy to support them, moreover when they are indies. But I don't more than 10% of each, I don't get it.

    Is it nostalgia?

I got a psychological question for you folks (not sure I'm on the good sub though, mods feel free to move). I got a similar question last year but it still bothers me. Since a few years, I started to buy TTRPG books. At first, I was DMing a few games but I noticed that I don't even do that...

D&D 5E (2014) Nobody Is Playing High Level Characters

D&D General Settling Down And Making A Place Home

When I was young(er), my main fun as a DM was creating content from a map, creating a world in my head (and then on paper), it really sparked my imagination skill. But at the gaming table, obviously, not every material was "used" and I didn't try to forced it down to players; I just felt sad...
