    Dungeoncraft - 4th edition style

What a great thread! @White Tornado: Perhaps the vampire mage became undead specifically to combat the worsening goblinoid problems. As he (and perhaps other stuward defenders of the world) began to age, they saw that they couldn't hold back the tide much longer. The mage had an ancient...

    Alchemy

I drink your milkshake! Also, my artificer is going to pick this up as soon as she can as well. Too bad she's already 8th lev (and just got Linked Portal). --

    Arcane Archer and Bladesinger

I love these classes (I've had a fondness for bladesingers since my second character I rolled--which used the bladesinger kit waaaay back in 2nd). I may not know the new rules well enough yet, but what's the benefit of using a bow as an implement (besides looking cool, I'm imagining shooting...

Looking for generic builds for all classes at all levels

I think the OGL forbids that kind of thing. But supposedly they're revising it soon to maybe (maybe) allow this in the future. For the time being I think you're stuck doing it the old fashioned way (with the PHB's table of contents). --

    New Power Sources

Isn't that a Star Pact? ;) I can get behind that though, I love those Far Realm friends. Perhaps "Eldritch" woud be a better term though (more Lovecraftian to me). Then again, I pay way too much attention to semantics (keep reading). In other news: I'd also love to see a technology source...

    Leshay Blade Spinner

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, picking the damage was tricky because his at-will is actually two attacks and his other powers grant let him use his at-will (so he has a possibility to do 4 attacks, shift his speed, and then move as a standard action). I think you're right that I could give...

    Leshay Blade Spinner

Here is my first attempt at a 4th edition monster. The plan is for it to be one of the mastermind villains of my campaign. As you can guess I have plenty of time before springing this on my unsuspecting players, so feedback and suggestions would be great. It's basically an amalgamation of...

    Artificer playtest any good?

Wow, I actually used Arcane Tinker last game. We failed a skill challenge to disarm a trap that sprung from a baddie's body which ended up frying her magic gear. I was able to repair the bag of holding she was carrying. --

    New Power Sources

Oh man, that sounds amazing. Someone make these classes. Asap! I'm not sure what the difference between an aristocrat and a noble would be though. --

Rolling a natural 20 for skills

I had a similar house rule in D&D 3e that I plan to use again in 4e. A natural 20 isn't an auto hit, it merely gives you +10 to the result (as though you rolled a 30), assuming that hits you deal a crit. The same is done for skill checks. So in the OP's example, he/she would have succeeded...

    Artificer playtest any good?

My first character in 4e so far is a 7th lev Artificer and I'm having a great time so far. Our party consists of a Dragonborn fighter, a Human ranger, an Eladrin monk (basically a rogue with a couple ranger and fighter powers I think), and an NPC Human wizard a couple levs lower. You...

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Bending styles as classes?

I like the idea of full blown classes better, especially if you are replicating the setting (if adding benders to an existing campaign, templates would work fine). I think that splitting elemental into four separate sources would be best. Then you could create classes as appropriate. Your...
