Protecting my PC from Ability Score drains

You are a cleric, what do you need magic items for?!? The solution to Blasphemy is easy - Silence or Deafness. Take Silent Spell feat and you will never have to worry about those damn no save spells (the 7th level ones) again. In the spell description (at least for Blashpemy) it says you have...

    Too good to be coincidence?

So I guess the concensus is that it wasn't an illusion... If I was the DM, it would have been - gosh nilbog flies invisibly above advancing goblin war party and sees goblins being wasted by enemy caster who suddenly appears near him in the air, realizes enemy caster is really only threat to him...

    Cleave and Attacks of Opportunity

Actually, this is not correct. While Great Cleave could grant you far more attacks than normal, you would still get a maximum numberof attacks against the BBEG equal to your total number of attacks/round (barring of course AoO). The reason for this is that presumably the cleaving attack...

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

Those abilities are all (surprisingly) extremely well balanced IMO. I don't plan on using non WOTC/FR material for this game. However, thanks for the info.

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

prereq - Con 20, Toughness benefit - increases DR by 2 (stackable) I used to think so too - then I saw a warhammer wielding Dwarven badass named Aramek put improved critical to devastating effect against many a foe in RttToEE. I agree that the feat is best used when combined with a high...

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

Here is what I am thinking about now: Barbarian 2, Fighter 4, CoG 10 For those 16 levels: Bullheaded (CL1) Knight of the Stars (CL3) TWF (don't forget my house rule that gives half-orcs familiarity with orc double axe) (F1) WF - orc double Axe (F2) Righteoous Wrath (CL6) WS - orc double Axe...

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

I see fighter levels as more of a disciplined style of training and barbarian as more of an undisciplined as a gross contrast between the two. Perhaps I was too loose with my first explanation. I looked over the Thug feat and actually think it would be very appropriate for the character in...

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

According to the build I suggested he would get 7 level feats, 3 fighter, and 2 exalted. I was more posting feats that I was milling over as possibilities. I want to make the character well but not necessarily completely midmaxed. For example I would really like to include a regional feat...

Quick Rules for Running a Chase

I recall an online roleplaying convention in part related to EN World where players had to design characters of 6th level as part of one of the role playing events and were involved in some sort of obstacle course/triathelon/race and they had a round based bechanic where you rolled a d20 to...

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

I would never allow Righteous Wrath to work with frenzy (btw, I am the DM). Rage in my opinion never actually prevents the character from knowing friend from foe (only frenzy does that), so that portion of the feat is not too important to me. Rather, it is more the descriptive terms of being...

Help with half-orc Champion of Gwynharwyf build inspired by Daelon in NWN

I only just got NWN GE and recently acquired Daelon (the half-orc barbarian that screams about the red tiger and what not). I really like the idea of a noble barbarian following the tacits of honor (at least that is what I have taken from the limited aspect of his personality in the game). I...

    D&D 3.x elemental vulnerability - difference between 3.0 and 3.5?

In the 3.5 SRD, under cold immunity, it details that fire based damage will deal 1.5x normal damage. In 3.0 didn't vulnerability equate to 2x normal damage?

    Quarterstaff?

For damage, it is kind of a waste of time as the monk's unarmed damage is ALOT better. However, for special maneuvers it is invaluable - especially for disarming. The extra +4 to the check on top of the +4 from the feat makes disarms nearly automatic.

Anyone got a decent build for a knife-throwing character?

I do agree that, in general, the acrobatic knife thrower does definitely have style. However, there is the question of survivability. In games I have played in, your damage potentials will result in a character death - be it yours or someone else in the party. This has nothing to do with the...

Anyone got a decent build for a knife-throwing character?

Let's presume you start with a Str of 14 (12 after penalty). Your average damage against an AC 20 opponent (reasonable average for opponents at 6th level) will be 8.365 (assuming weapons of at least masterwork quality). Not to be harsh, but this is utterly pitiful. Moreover, you won't have...
