    Recipe for an Army Killer

Only if they are stupid enough to all fit under a 30 foot diameter circle. Even then, how is this different than, say, an enlarged Fireball? Both will pretty much kill all the low level soldiers in a 30 foot diameter circle.

    Are PrC's too powerful?

That's my main problem with prestige classes, they eliminate virtually every reason to continue with a core class. They just do everything that the core class can do, but with nifty powers attached.

[OT-NHL] The Annual NHL Playoffs Thread: 2003

You're surprised? Really? I'm not. The Avs are notoriously horrible at keeping a lead. I can't take anything away from Minnesota, they played hard and deserved to win the series. It was as I feared, the famed AMP line and Roy, which were so hot just a few weeks before playoffs, cooled...

What to do with a baby Ettin...

Well, I was going to say: Kill the poor sod and hide the body from the paladin. But I guess the evil opinion has already been represented. I would say that raising him is a near impossibility. For one, do you guys have a steady home/stronghold? Do you have someone who can actually train...

[OT] Internet Stores no longer able to sell Games Workshop Products

GW's stuff is already too expensive. The reason this really sucks for me is because GW stuff online is about 50% the cost of GW stuff at hobby stores. What used to be an affordable hobby (albeit barely) has just turned into a horrid waste of money.

    PC Fighting...

I can't see any alternative to killing him. Perhaps not now or here, but your party won't cooperate with that half-orc in your group. I would Tanglefoot the orc, run off and get the paladin and tag team his hairy :) :) :) .

    Memory - intelligence or wisdom?

Wasn't there mention in a rule book of a high intelligence, low wisdom character being a sort of "absent minded professor"?

[DM] - To Sunder, or not to Sunder? (Break, Destroy, Steal the PC's gear?)

I avoid sunder except for in epic battles. If you're fighting your arch-nemesis, then it's basically fair game. I just don't think random encounters should involve sundering extremely expensive magic items.

    Swearing in a game

We don't talk any differently than we would normally. It's not unusual to hear a cuss word (sometimes of the extra-dirty variety), but it's not like we curse with every other word.

so, exactly how evil are we talking here? (kinda long)

Sounds like you need some help from South Park. "He's coming right for us! *BANG*

    CR, DR and dead heroes...

The issue of DR was completely and 100% the party's fault. They purposely bought elemental +1 weapons instead of +2 weapons because they obviously liked the +1d6 damage a whole lot more than the +1 damage. They have no reason to whine when they can't pierce +2 DR. Heck, they should have been...

Penalty for Subdual Damage, anyway to get rid of it?

I just house rule it to remove the penalty altogether. It tends to take some of the bloodthirst away from the game, which I like. There's more of an incentive to capture someone when you don't have to seriously gimp your combat ability. Isn't there a metamagic feat in T+B that converts magic...

    Does the Monk class stink?

Unfortunately, this seems to be the rule instead of the exception. I have played a monk from level 5 to 10, and never stunned anything despite using it at every possibility.

What does the paladin do when...

And then get a friendly cleric to True Resurrect her and then live happily ever after until the DM tries to screw the pious paladin again.

[OT-NHL] The Annual NHL Playoffs Thread: 2003

Gotta root for the hometown Avs, but I don't know. We just got hot a few weeks ago, but now we've kind of cooled down a little, and I'm not sure if we can kick it back up when playoffs roll around the corner.

    [OT] Gas Prices

Unfortunately, the Western world runs on gasoline. We cannot function as the society that we are without gasoline. As long as gasoline is a virtual necessity, which it is for Western nations, we will be forced to buy it from those few nations that can provide it.

    Boots of S&S, Expeditious Retreat

    Where does it say that?
  18. H

Do you trust the people you game with?

Well, depends. If we trusted the DM not to slaughter us if we went a little soft on power, then I don't think our group would have a problem with not min/maxing. If, however, there was an abnormally high death rate, then we as a group are excellent at powermunching characters. We had one...

    I want my Prestige classes

Wait, hold the phones, you mean it's NOT like that already? Sure seems like it to me. I haven't heard of a single case of someone going with just core classes in the past few months, either in person or on messageboards. I think the DM's decision makes sense, as PrCs have a tendency of...

    How hard editing really is:

Reread the combat example at the beginning of the Combat chapter (Ch. 8 I think), and you'll want to retract that :)
