Do armies in your campaign go around raping, pillaging, and plundering?

Well, that's why you have Bags of holding to store food in. A decanter of endless water (or whatever it's called...) and you're set for water, and a few bags of holding stuffed with food will mean you're set for a while. Good-aligned armies never pillage, plunder, rape, etc. They subjugate...

    Kord's Sword

Kord is not a war deity. He just isn't. He is a lover of games, sports, and contests. He enjoys watching people partake in games and contests of strength. If there were an Olympics in your campaign world, Kord would be the one sponsoring it. It would be his realm. That said, the guy should...

    New trick with Iron body?

Ha, old trick. Well, sort of. The highest damage dealing spell would be summon monster (don't remember which one). Summer a dire bison (or something along those lines... just look in the descriptions and find the one that weighs the most) about 50 feet above someone's head.

Can good characters let evil characters die?

If this situation arose, and we were within a short distance of the town, we would stablize them, tie them up REALLY nice, and hand em over to the authorities (who might just outright execute them right then are there anyways). If we knew that we were a long ways from town, then we would just...

    SUNRODS - Hot Or Not??

Hmmm.... At least a little hot. I would think they are akin to lightbulbs, sure, they aren't hot enough to really do damage in combat, and they don't light things on fire easily, but they are still quite hot. I always thought of Sunrods being slightly less hot than a light bulb. The golden...

    Giant defense

You want a good way for the troll to kill a PC? Bull rush him off a cliff, go down with him. Seriously, the troll will regenerate teh damage, no matter how high it is (unless you rule 0 it so the troll dies from impact, but he shouldn't by the rules). The PC will be pretty much screwed. Even...

More than one Cure in a round?

Can't Cure only effects one person. As soon asy ou touch one person, the 'charge' is gone. It's mainly used for spells that let you touch multiple creatures per casting.

    PC Death = Campaign Death?

Nope I just got back from my game, and we had a character die. It was a new player (been playing about 3 months), but he was really cool with it. He was making jokes about it and started making a new character. We almost had a catostrophic entire party killed event, but my wizard came up...

    Druids with bows

Great... Great, that won't do much. If the druid uses it, he'll still lose all his druid powers for a day.

    (OT) Warcraft III

Mixed feelings... I have mixed feelings about Warcraft III. The torturously long time they spend to create their games doesn't show too much success, if you ask me. It will be at least a month or two after the release before Warcraft III will be balanced, following the pattern of their other...

I didnt let a PC die

True, I probably would have spared teh character in that case as well. But, if a character with 1 hit point starts taunting a great wyrm... too bad. You be an idiot, you'll pay for it.

    Do you believe in Luck?

Depends. It really depends on the session. Once, my half-elf paladin rolled 20-20-19 and dealt ungodly damage to a barbarian (evil) to decapitate it. The very next session, with the same dice (in a different campaign), my wizard rolled something like 16 straight rolls below 10. I still have...

I didnt let a PC die

In this case... I, personally, would have left the paladin dead. It is VERY obvious that the players have lost all sense of the omnipresent chance of death. The party forged on even when they were low on hit points, and apparently low on healing. They make the risk that they would be ok...

    MAGIC Domain is Broken!

You're forgetting another cool thing... You can cast Identify for free. No drinking pearl infuses wine for you. Each casting is 100gp, so you'll be saving yourself a couple hundred gp using your domain Identify rather than the arcane version.

Arms and Armour - is it any good?

Review... That review sounded more like an ad than a review. He just kept blathering on and on about how great it was, but it seemed rather uninteresting. Seriously, now many different variations can you have with the limited values set? A claymore, to me, would be pretty much a greatsword...

    Armor Spikes- the universal solution?

Munchkin land You need a hand free to use armor spikes. Anything otherwise would be rediculous, and munchy. If you allow that, then let me play a character can wields a mercurial greatsword in his hands, one in his teeth, one in each foot, and can attack with all 4 of them. Would you allow...

    Eco-Terrorists

Alternate Idea... Simple, get them with fear and have someone else kill them off. Let their reputations be sullied before they are killed. Get a group of druids. One day, cast control weather, and have a group of druids cast call Lightning. Have this in the middle of the night. So...

Hex Mats for 3rd Ed Combat?

Hmm... I'm not a fan of hex. Yeah, yeah, it's ok in the open, but it's absolute murder when mapping a dungeon, double the headache if it is complex. Then you have to go and map out your own area templates for every single spell area there is (a 10' radius, a 20', 30', 40', 50', 60', cones...

[OT, Movies] Saw the trailer for Episode II last night . . .

I saw the trailor when I saw Lord of the Rings a couple weeks ago. Man, it's more of a love story than anything else. Yeah, yeah, that cheesy love story has always been there, but it has always taken a back stage to everything else... now it seems Epi II is ONLY a love story. A good 90% of...

What are your party's combat tactics?

Tactics? What tactics? Let's see... charge nearest enemy with greatsword... lather rinse repeat. That's about my group's philosophy. I (wizard) tend to stick back and use my spells sparingly, and instead use my crossbow a lot. If the sh*t hits the fan, I cast expeditous retreat and book it.
