Congratulations to the 2017 Gen Con EN World RPG Award Winners!

Well it was only because Mike was there causing trouble--I personally told everyone "inside voices". There's recorded video evidence! Datapoint: The big winners outside the OSR this year were: -Tales from the Loop (mostly Swedish people who didn't show up)--which was only one guy. -Chaosium...

Congratulations to the 2017 Gen Con EN World RPG Award Winners!

Yeah, Mike Evans, author of the Ennie-award-winning Hubris. He flipped everyone off. It was great. Raggi was like "Man, how are we gonna top that?"

Congratulations to the 2017 Gen Con EN World RPG Award Winners!

Well I'm pretty proud how many tiny tiny tiny OSR things with a fraction of the mileage behind them that mainstream products have managed to win this popularity contest.

    ENnies Voting Is Open!

This is the best slate of nominees yet-- Veins of the Earth is amazing, and glad to see genuinely original work like Hubris, Blood in the Chocolate etc getting a nod

Congratulations to the 2017 ENnie Award Nominees!

Yes and any of them who argued one nonrich guy in Finland publishing books by himself isn't "indie" would be wrong and the people arguing he was pretty much the definition of indie would be right. "Instead"? That doesn't make sense. Whether James has been successful or not doesn't address...

Congratulations to the 2017 ENnie Award Nominees!

LotFP is literally one guy: James Raggi. The fact that he puts out the best-looking books and they win lots of awards doesn't mean he's suddenly not indie. Indie is not a synonym for "bad".

Congratulations to the 2017 ENnie Award Nominees!

Glad to see Veins of the Earth so well represented! I think Broodmother should've got . a little more than judges' nod but it's a tough competition in indie RPG land.

Want to Playtest Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition (V5)?

It would've been interesting if, in the scenario, the Anarchs turned out to be destroying the techno club not because it was Camarilla but just because they hated techno.

D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the Hermaphrodites???

Ad_hoc is just doing their part in the ongoing smear campaign/conspiracy theory from the troll forum they hang out. They really like new games and I mostly like old games and so do the women in my game group therefore I must be part of the alt right and there must be something wrong with 5e...

D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the Hermaphrodites???

Thanks! It's pretty rare to see people check themselves on the internet--I'm impressed and I appreciate it.

D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the Hermaphrodites???

That article is a smear written by conservative a troll from Something Awful, part of a harassment campaign that links to no primary sources or any evidence. Here's a total debunking with receipts and proof: http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.com/2014/08/how-dungeons-and-dragons-is-totally-not.html

D&D 5E (2014) What happened to the Hermaphrodites???

Please do not make personal attacks on me and please do not lend credence to the smear/harassment post ad_hoc just linked. I have nothing to do with the Right, alt or otherwise.

    D&D 5E (2014) Puzzle-heavy module?

Hut of Baba Yaga and Crypt Of Lyzandred the Mad are a couple older modules that have a lot of puzzles, many of the challenges are edition-agnostic. Labyrinth of Madness is a high-level module has puzzley features that are difficult, complex dungeoneering problems. EDIT: Also if you want to...

Is TOMB OF HORRORS the Worst Adventure Of All Time?

I'm sorry, what was the thing that I (and apparently everyone who's played this module has felt) that it expressed?

Read it before you run it?

Do you usually read all the way through a module before you run it? Is your answer different if it's a mega dungeon with like three hundred rooms?

Robert E. Howard's Conan AMA With Jason Durall & Chris Lites

How does the game address the idea that: -Magic in Conan books shows up in a wild variety and it's implied there are thousands of spells and ways to use magic but -The books themselves don't portray wizards as protagonists? Will the magic system have more stuff in it than other popular...

D&D 5E (2014) Do you want your DM to fudge?

If the monk has been beat on for a few rounds there's no conceivable way the outcome afterward could be the fault solely of "extreme bad luck". An extremely death-averse party has had _multiple rounds_ to run away instead of keep fighting trolls. But they kept on. Whatever happens next, even if...
