    Party V's Army

If the PC party laying waste and saving the day is a story that would be interesting to you and your players, then create an enemy army who that is a likely outcome for. Maybe all the 17th level PCs are tied up fighting the high level city residents who are in league with the army, have already...

Do only DMs like rules lite systems?

Could it be that instead of GMs preferring rules light, it's GMs gravitate toward rules light when in need of a break from GM workload (as opposed to a simple change of pace which any new game system can provide)?

Eric Noah, stay out of this thread. Everybody else, hop on in.

Gaming would have been an even better experience if we had ENWorld back in the day. We have it now though, and let me say, it's opened my eyes to how other people approach the game, making me a better player and DM (and supplying me with countless ideas for my own games). The message boards...

[E.N. Publishing] War of the Burning Sky adventure titles

I'd like something with a vibe like Game of Thrones/Clash of Kings type stuff - wheter there are elements of will they be our ally, won't they, and maybe an ally turning on the PC's as part of the story arc There should be opportunities for capture and escape (both of PC's, their allies, and...

Why apprentice at one wizard school over another?

From this thread on PCs investing money into businesses, I noticed the following. http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=181204 "In our recently pended campaign one PC opened a wizard school where he charges apprentices for learning his skills and some fo the excess magical products are sold...

    WotC & Their Adventures

Yeah. What he said. Too many rules will never see the light of day in my game, and each rules element that you use just adds complexity, gives me more to remember or look up (along with the players). Adventures just lend themselves to play. Easier for me to use, and mroe fun for me to read, even...

    Do scenarios need a BBEG?

I like the idea of different types of dramatic endings besides a fight with the BBEG, but am having trouble coming up with catgories of endings to springboard ideas from. Anyone care to chime in with categories? So far I have: Fight BBEG Fight large group (probably tied to something that...

[E.N. Publishing] War of the Burning Sky adventure titles

The campaign will really interest me if it's a gritty war with standard D&D level fantasy elements present, i.e. gritty without being low magic. As a potential customer, I thought you might be interested to know that while I like most of the titles, the ones below don't really inspire me to...

    Dragon Compendium Volume 2

Who is the right person to send email to at WotC to tell them we want to see this and the Age of Worms compiled edition (which I'm personally more intestested in)? Not that they're not reading this, but I'm talking about a more formalized approach that people can take if they really want to see...

My D&D Campaign, the Television Series

Robin Laws wrote a good article on modeling a campaign on the TV series format. It's in Dragon 293. I think the title is Run Emmy-Winning Games. Might be worth mining for ideas that would help in building yours along those lines.

Have you seen or used this product before?

If it would hold playing cards, then Paizo's item cards should also fit. Seems like a fun idea.

    Yes. Absolutely.

Interesting. Anyone know what the setting was about?

QFT. The last one I found to have missed its potential.

    The mid-lifer schedule crunch

The message board sounds like a good idea. Also, I'm wondering, has anyone tried blue booking (I've seen it referenced in Strike Force and Silver Age Sentinels)? I'm thinking that can work to keep people interested, and give an offline outlet for PC time away from the team, and then the GM can...

Mass Combat for E.N. Publishing's War of the Burning Sky

Does Heroes of Battle need to be open content? I seem to recall that it's more of a methodology than rule mechanics. I'd like to see this approach for in the thick of it type battles that involve the PCs directly. I don't have enough experience with other systems to know what would be good for...

    New WotC Campaign Setting

My thoughts exactly. This is the play enabling product I need most as a busy gamer. I'll also say that I think one off setting/theme books (like Ghostwalk and Oriental Adventures), are the way to appeal to the world builder/tinkerer GMs without stretching themselves over too many supported...

I complain about the current MSRP of RPGs all the time...

Power of Faerun is the most recent. You can mine that for ideas forever. Something like Red Hand of Doom, in my opinion, is good value for the money. When you consider that for something like $30 you get days of fun out of it, it stacks up better than a movie or DVD.

    Decisions for a campain setting?

Everything is always D&D. How about M&M, True20, or Hero system? D20 modern is interesting too.
