    Best Post-apocalyptic RPG?

I'd start with Post Apocalyptic Hero and see if I could play what I had in mind using Hero rules so I didn't have a to learn a new system. Beyond that, not sure what I'd do. Probably try to adapt Savage Worlds, or even d6 to my idea - something relatively rules light and flexible.

I want an invading army from beyond this dimension. Tell me about it.

Humans. Greedy power hungry humans. From Earth. I'm thinking of The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub for inspiration. Dragon Magazine's Incursion campaign

    How to do Romance?

If it's to enrich the story part of the game, I say have the omance occur between NPCs, and have this create adventures or various situations that the players will understand are driven by the NPC romance. The knight asks you for help hunting dire wolves. Why? Because he wants to provide his...

Need some adventure suggestions for mini-series campaign

Or, you could start with Chimes at Midnight, move to the second adventure which was in the last printed issue of Dungeon (#150), and then end with the last adventure which is free in the first electronic edition of Dungeon (#151). I've read a lot of good things about the first adventure, and I...

    D&D 4E Paizo and 4e.

My take on this is that if they choose to or are forced to deviate from 4e, they'll be better off developing their own system instead of sticking with a version of D&D that no one but them supports. It's like all the benefit in flexibility of having your own system goes away because you're stuck...

Different player types hogging the spotlight?

When I ran Star Wars D6 back in the day, I used to give a 10 item questionnaire at the end of an adventure. Each correct answer was worth one experience point. Some modules took multiple sessions. It helped everyone remember what was going on with the plot because there was something to be...

Bored with knowing what will happen next

I'd ask the players if one of them wants to run a game for the other players using these same characters, or at least in this same setting that you can riff off of. They'll introduce a plot theme that they think it neat, and you can run with it. I guess eventually you figure out what happens...

    Episodic Games Thinktank...

I really like the idea of story initiative. As for resources, I've read that the Buffy RPG and Decipher's Star Trek Narrator's Guide are both excellent resources for a campaign paced like a TV-series. Another resource that I've read and like is an article titled Run Emmy Winning Campaigns. I...

    D&D 4E My Business Model For 4e

I think point 3 is the strongest. I think randomized feats and magics won't fly with the fan base. If instead, you included exclusive miniatures that were only availabe in an adventure supplement, you'd achieve your goal of selling more adventures without alienating the RPG fan base. RPG'ers...

Tears of Twilight Hollow from Dungeon Magazine, and the more recent Sons of Grummsh are both good.

    RPG Advertisement Help!

I think something along the lines of, "Grimly real, and internally consistent." is more important than the free downloads. I'm not going to look at the setting primarily because it has free downloads. What, in your view, is the most important selling point for those who aren't already using it...

Quietly Back to the Past (in spirit)?

While players can always play in their prefered style and ignore it, I think there was a strong implication of magic moving like coinage throughout the economy. This required places where you could sell it - an the material didn't take pains to provide alternative inspiration to cities. Sure...

    D&D 4E 4E products you'd like to see released

Originally I was thinking of a wish list of products for the WotC release schedule. But I figure why not open it up to any company that typically publishes d20 or OGL material. What do you hope gets published? Similar to the past? New ideas? Some things that come to mind for me: WotC Deities...

    [Rogue Games] Colonial Gothic News

My FLGS got this yesterday. Just curious, can you help differentiate your book from Paradigm Concepts' Witch Hunter: The Invisible World? They look pretty similar, which honestly, just seems weird. How long has there been an opportunity to make a colonial horror game? And now two come out back...

How do fans of OTHER RPGs handle new editions?

I think it depends on whether the new edition of for a dead product line, or a new one. With wotc's first Star Wars for example, none of the old d6 players were complaining about the release of a new edition. Some may not have liked the edition (rules, levels, etc), but I don't think there was...

D&D 4E What does your dream 4e Monster Manual contain?

A brilliant idea. Or just give me the code to open that application on the DI (though I like the CD better)

D&D 4E What does your dream 4e Monster Manual contain?

Yes indeed. In addition to the above, I'd like a nice combination of generic fantasy, D&D iconics and the unexpected (things that will surprise experienced players). I think templates would be a good way to achieve this last bit, but I'm open to others. I'd also like less to navigate through...

Do you think core rule books shrinkage is a good thing ?

None of the above. While I think the rules will be simpler, and have less text, I don't think they'll take up less space. I think diagrams, etc will have them taking up as much or more space. I think we'll see fewer, or possibly combined rules though. I think we'll see fewer spells. Fewer...
