I just used the rogue class and changed the 'fluff' to suit my character. Picking the right combinations of feats and skills can make you a very good ninja-type character, without having to take (imho) an underpowered class (the ninja class in Complete Adventurer).

It sounds like a real interesting setting, and really nice book with a lot of extras and whatnot.. but the only way I'm buying a DnD book that costs more than $50 or so, is if it's stuffed with lottery tickets.
