Converting "generic setting" second edition monsters

i'm trying to make something out of this. i'm not so sure i want the PP to be immune to bludgeoning/impact damage. i don't think i saw anything in the old text that contradicts the "slipping through small spaces" asepct. as for the ooze traits, if we're going with that i'd rather spell it out...

i'm pretty sure you're "safe" with all of those. :)

    Baba Yaga d20 conversion?

hag countess makes for a good superficial comparison, but i would take the others into account as well. ;)

Converting "generic setting" second edition monsters

eh, we can work with that... i can go with 20. it's definitely going to need some Strength, especially if its main attack is by grappling! you said it. we'll work on that aspect last. speaking of the grappling though, how does the comparison hold out above?

    Converting monsters from Dungeon Magazine

that's pretty tough. :) i don't have that one. what does it say about transferring energy drain into wielded weapons? why not? ;)

    D&D 3.x Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

OK, now i'm thinking the sap should stay "active" for 1 full round. the first creature who touches the golem in that round (the creature who wounded it, if with natural weapons, counts) with bare flesh gets the benefit of the CLW, and subsequent creatures don't. i'd say otherwise the "potion"...

that's certainly a possibility. :) if we don't go with what i said above, of course. ;)

    D&D 3.x Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

Not that I'm aware of. :) That was a bit of a vague memory on my part, though I could have sworn there was something more recent than the hamadryad. How about a much lesser version of that, as such: "Forest Alertness" (Ex): A wood golem is keenly aware of the forest and environment it...

OK, if you want to go with one of those for your #5, that's fine then. :) otherwise, you have other options to consider...

not as far as i know - good choice! :)

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

I'm going to allow them. i'm a pushover. ;) besides, the "one book only" is more of a guideline that a rule of strict adherense. i'm trying to aim for stuff that hasn't been seen by most folks or was easily overlooked the first time it showed up. i'd certainly prefer if the majority of...

    D&D 3.x Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

finished? hahahahahaha! :) let's make sure the combat abilities and such are kosher before calling it done. This is what we have, from the CC: CONSTRUCTION A wood golem's body must be crafted from a large fallen oak or pine tree, which is not rotting or insect-infested. Large branches of...

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

actually, i'm going to have to veto the eater of knowledge for one simple reason: we've already submitted it twice. :) once as a "bonus" (unused) monster with the Monsters of the Mind submission, and again just now when we re-sent all the unused MotM critters along with our most recent...

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

sure, upon reconsidering, i'll allow both of them. :) i'll count them as one source. i'm sure there aren't many creatures who didn't also appear somewhere else before or after, but if you can find any... :) sure, that can be #1 for you if you like. :) i like those weirdos for some...

ah, correct! vetoing that one, then.

Another Creature Catalog query for Dragon? (Pt 2)

i can confirm for you that the utukku first appeared in Dragon Magazine #89. i might just consider using them anyway, since the utukku has that weird/cool thing going on, and the Savage Coast MC still winds up being a rather obscure source since AFAIK it never made it to print. we'll see. :)
